No one has transformed Indian film music like Kishore had..Kishore sang any song with a style his own, and something almost all singers of today want to copy. RIP

one thing you will see when he raised his voice in high pitch his voice never got distorted, others' did! he maintained same voice whether it was low or high pitch! marvellous! He got the natural open voice!

he never went to high pitch. it was only rafi and mahendar kapoor who did so.

He was not capable of singing high pitch song. he had a hoarse voice.

I have always heard and read people calling Rafi as "Rafi Sahab", but Kishore as "Kishore Da"?

Why the difference?

Da is short form of Dada (elder brother)among Bengalis. In other regional langauges dada means grandfather).

in tamil da means machan what means sala in hindi.. but normally tamilians are using to call anyone with da. like enna da? means in hindi kia bhai..they are also using ma, pa for same cause like da..even tamilians call male also using ma, like epdi irrike ma? means how are u?

But what I meant to ask was that why do we call both of them differently?

Why don't we say "Rafi Da"?.

Afterall, both were almost of the same age.

Is it the difference in their religions for what they are being called differently?

Rafi needs no superlatives he is SUPER. Only mediocre singetrs like Kishore needs all these adjectives to make up for real talent.

kishor kumar is the only kalakar who has a lot of variety.we cant comper him with any one.great singer great actor comedian.any type of song sad,romentic,comedy or light he was great.no any other singer yestday,today or tmrw can touch him.he was the greatst performer.
