Kishore was a great singet but Rafi was surely greater. Also by the tim Kishore reached his peak the quality of music also went down with the death od SD Burman, Shankar and Jaiskishan and emergence of more inferior music directors.Rafi ruled the roost when the Music was at its best in the 50s and 60s.

agreed as Kishore also had other talents which Rafi did not have.He was a top class comedian-hero.But when it comes pure singing talent Rafi was streets ahead of Kishore.It is like comparing Sir Don with Sir Gary.

Your comparison is totally wrong, Rafi was Gavaskar (old generation) and Kishore was Sachin (new generation and all-rounder)!!!! In some movies both sang same song but nobody remember that the same song was sung by Rafi also. If you want I can provide you a list but be happy if you like Rafi. See all the rating even after the death of both KK is par…don’t talk about golden age, Kishore hits are golden…even after 80’s Namak Halal, Sharabi, Yarana, Sagar, Bemisal, Thodi Si Bewafai, Golmal..want more ….and KK received many more awards (while Rafi was alive). …..But I love Rafi Saheb also, he was great.

OK. Please provide us such list. Let's see how many hundreds of songs you have in your list. And also provide us the list of below types of songs sung by KK 1. Patriotic 2. Classical (I hope you understand what this word means) 3. Qawwali 4. Bhajan :) And what ratings are you talking about? How do you decide greatness of an artist? By the fan following? Then KK was a singer of 'mass' and Rafisaab was a singer of a 'Class'. Better stop writing such comments. Those wont prove KK better than Rafi but those will just show how much you understand in Music. So stop making fun of yourself :)

Kishore had won only 4 filmfare awards till 1980. No one can sing like Rafi Saheb.

REMEMBER SHEIKH THAT EVEN KISHORE DA HAD VERY VERY GREAT REGARDS FOR MOHD RAFI BUT WHY ARE WE DRAGGING THESE GENTLEMENT INTO AN ENDLESS DEBATE. THE KIND OF SONGS RAFI COULD SING, KISHORE WOULD HAVE NEVER AND VIS A VERSA.

Kishore da was one of the best.. very versatile and simple outstanding.. He is and always be one of the best male singer that India has produced.. He is my fav singer.Wishing Kishore da many happy returns of the day..
