one of the few hindi movies which sucessfully touch your heart... loved neha dhupia...one of her best performances and vinay pathak is one of the best actors in bollywood...
We saw the movie last night and I must say that it is very touching. It had me all teary eyed just thinking about the simple dreams and aspirations that most people(who are not as blessed as others)have....Its a awesome watch especially for people who can appreciate real cinema beyond the types "Golmal Returns".
As for the critic Elvis D'Silva, ...seriously...get a life....u want his list to be CREATIVE for you to be entertained??...how about a few item numbers, pic on front page coz he saved a village from disaster or maybe buy an aircraft?!!! DUDE...How many simple working people, struggling through each day get more creative?!!!
Dasvidaniya is a beautiful movie ! That is by no way an overcompliment...
Rediff has already declared the movie a flop! Can you believe it? A movie that has probably touched every single person sitting in the cinema hall, a movie that makes movies by six packed no-brainers and one of the best movies released in Hindi this year is a FLOP !!!!!!
Now question here is why is such a movie, a good tight script, acting by Vinay that will put shahrukh khan nd his bunch of plastic emoting cronies to shame, realistic humour and irony fail ?????
It is because they have nobody to promote it! People like Elvis D'silva or his equally inept fellow reviewer Raja Sen would have clapped silly had this movie had Shahrukh khan in the lead (and with all due respects to him, he wouldn't hold a candle to Vinay here) !
A low budget film with genuine actors (now chest shaven, body carved artificial showmen) can not see the light because of vested interests like these ! I cant believe rediff gave this movie a 2.5 rating !!!!! If you give this a 2.5 do you think any other masala flick is worth a 1.5 in the true scheme of things?????
GUYS THIS IS A FANTASTIC MOVIE ! I am someone who is rarely fond of hindi cinema because of the mediocrity introduced by its super fake so called superstars ! (this year my favourable picks have been Rock on and Wednesday)!
If any of you have not watched it please to to a theatre and do. Hindi cinema needs movies like this and actors like Vinay !

I watched it late, thanks to the publicity given to only star films. its nothing short of a masterpiece, even 4-5 times better than show man's yuvraaj.
This is the best movie I have watched after a long time...it is ver very realistic. It is great feeling to see that Bollywood which is now famous all over the world makes such films as well and has great directors and actors.who is the director and producer? hats of to them.... I will give 4.5 stars. the reviewer Mr d'silva has got it totally wrong.
Just finished watching Dasvidaniya. This is the best movie I have seen in 2008. Elvis D'Silva is a moron to rate it 2.5 out of 5. He has no understanding of good cinema. This is so much better than Bheja Fry because it has a great message - never lose touch with your dreams in the hustle & bustle of daily life. Vinay Pathak is at his sincere best and this is a wonderfully directed movie. Not a dull moment. It is not just comedy - this is a movie with substance. The casting is perfect, the characters are very well etched out. This is a must watch for everyone.
I have been following rediff reviews for a long time and has found that most of it ARE NOT CORRECT; or influenced by who's has directed and who's acting in it. This movie was one of the best movies I have seen after so many months. This movie will leave an impact on you and will encourage you to live your life to full. A MUST WATCH -(8/10) is my rating
