The Argument continues...
by Ram Suresh on Jun 19, 2008 05:16 PM

Few decades back the same comparison war erupted in almost all household. Was Sivaji Ganesan better or MGR.Though MGR was no comparison to the acting of Sivaji the Charisma of MGR won him the Throne.History repeats Kamal is no doubt a better actor, thinker, creative performer than Rajini but.....Take 2 recent movies of Rajini and Kamal.Sivaji ran Packed houses for few weeks and escaped unhurt.I find Dasavatharam a far more better movie in all aspects then Sivaji is Lugging in many theaters. Is this the inference
Brains cannot win....

Good concept!
by Priya Jay on Jun 13, 2008 07:49 AM

Just now saw Dasavathaaram in UK. Movie is very nice. Teh concept is very good.Probably difficult for laymen to understand.
'Even a disaster has a reason to occur..i.e. to save the Earth and mankind!' (whether through hands of God or Nature or manmade'-depends on ur belief-Philosophy vs Science vs Mythology'

Excellent concept. Even if kamal hadnt acted in 10 roles, this movie would have been good for the concept and the leftist ideas of kamal.

KUDOS to KAMaaaaaaaaaaaal!

Kamal is the GREATEST ACTOR
by sridhar srinivasan on Jun 09, 2008 04:35 PM  | Hide replies

Kamal's penchant for perfection in his profession is admired by all people from filmdom. He is the only one to do 180 films in tamil, telugu, kannada, malayalam, hindi and 1 begali films, many hits (both commercial and classic), versatility, trying different characters, different body language, trying to be different in each movie. He started at age 5 then worked as assistant dance master and became actor in KB's movies. KB preferred Kamal than Rajini becz he can act as he wants him to act. Kamal is a director, star, stage artiste, singer, composer, lyricist, columnist, script writer, producer and what not. Rajini is a cheap imitation of Big B. Most of Rajini films are remakes of Big B films. What I appreciate the most is his guts to be different in spite of some setbacks, to think different, his obsession to his profession. His guts to be open in professional and personal life. When it comes to films and media personal life is dark arena for most of the actors only a few like Actor Sivakumar are clean only in women, but recently he has cheated Director Ameer for "Parutheeveeran" rights. Kamal is kissing in movies his heroines who are either wife or gf, but Rajini whose films are watched by more number of children as he is a comic hero, "Chandramuki" he is wooing Vadivel's wife, how disgusting and that is comedy for Rajini fans. I like Rajini - the villain in his B/W and in "Chandramuki." Cannot compare Kamal with Mamooty and Mohanlal, who seldom change their dhoti and shirt.

What about Thenali scenes were kamalahasan acted cheap by wooing Jayaram's wife! Was it not cheap scenes dancing with someone's wife!!!

You have conveniently forgotten all the kamalahasan movies which are copied from hollywood movies and also makes mannerisms which are so vulgar in so many movies like kaki chattai with Ambika and Vikram with Dimple kapadia

For your information, all of Kamal's movies which were copied from hollywood were better then the original. "Avvai Shanmughi" was far better than Mrs.Doubtfire.."Sathi Leelavathi" was definitely a better movie than "She Devil"...The same applies to "Magalir Mattum" which was more comic than the original "9 to 5"...And "Mahanadhi" completely eclipses the original "An Innocent Young Man"...Copying Hollywood movies is way better than copying the same formula in multiple movies.

Hi,

It is your view. If its modified to suit the likes of local people it cant be called better.

Americans make the movies for the audience viewing and Tamilians make their movies for their audience viewing. SO you cant call that it was better than the Hollywoods original.

Beauty is the one of the beholder's sight.

It was just a message to sridhar saying some movies scenes were vulgar whereas kamalahasan himself would make the same kind of movies always.

there is no harm in copying or reproduction. one hasto see whether such reproduction has refined the earlier productions. in that way kamal'S ARE NOT BLOODLESS REPRODUCTIONS BUT ARE RICH IN novelties.

Very simple...
they get so engrossed between reel and real life that they forget where they are and what they are doing... they start acting in real life as well and presume that every situation will have a happy ending too..in real life..but the otherwise happens...
Being in big places helps them as they are in the direct preview of the Society which will keep them from doing other wise!

a) Why do people pay bribes when they know it upsets the social fabric irreparably?

b) Why do people try to showcase their existent or very limited riches when they know it makes them look like social donkeys?
Why do people booze, womanise when they know it shortens life by more than triple or quadruple?

c) Why do superiors want to screw the careers of their juniors conspiratorially & want to prove their superiority at the cost of the poor junior's reputation?

d) Why do leaders, just for the sake of their filthy, lowly political conspiracies, put the existences of entire countries & it's people on the wire?

e) Why do "Bhai"s spill blood as if it were "Gutter ka Paani"? Just to prove their existence, ain't it? So simply put, that would mean others don't have thwe right to live. Wow!

As all these queries are mysteries to you & the world, my friend, so are your queries.

>>> Why do people booze, womanise when they know it shortens life by more than triple or quadruple?

Who told you this nonsense? Boozing in limited quantities doesnt have any negative effect on health. It may actually be helpful to reduce the risk of heart attack. Anything out of control is obviously not good!

Womanizing and reducing the life? Are you insane??

great actors and their married life
by kalyan ram on Jun 08, 2008 10:05 AM

why great actors like kamal hasan and aamir khan are failures in their marriage life?.....why they have multiple marriages and divorces?....are these great actors are acting in their personal lives too?....what would have made their wives to be not able bear these great actors?......why they are like play boy's in real life too?.....why the great actors like aamir khan and kamal hasan insist on kissing scenes with their heroines in films?....why these great actors always like to ghost direct the films?.....why these great actors do not have enough courage to condemn corrupt politicians?....

Maddy & Kamal- Mutual Admiration
by TanPanLan on Jun 08, 2008 06:48 AM  | Hide replies

Madhavan is an average actor & well good looking with some northie features & from south Indian perspective given other heros in South like Rajinikanth, Vijay , Viyakanth. Sarath Kumar appeal only to Dravidan taste. Save Ajith who I am told is a product Brahmin Iyer & a sindhi mother so he looks a bit northie. Then in this interview Maddy goes overboard with Kamal saar & sucks up. Maddy has acted in few Hindi movies & I saw one on TV - he is a lousy actor. Kamal Hassan & his drift in moviews are strange but I think he is talented & reasonable looking compared to ` Asuras' like Rajinkanth- Vijaykenth lot. Hey we pay for movies to see decent faces, to enjoy & come back to sleep well and not see faces , get frieghtened & cannot sleep. Tamil heros are best confined to Tamilnadu malaysia tamil. Pls; no all India releases of these Movies or Please do not Dubb them in Hindi.

so what do you do when you walk in teh streets of UP Bihar MP you see lots of Asutas there ( almost 90% of the population ) lookin glike Rajinkanth Vijaykanth. Is that the reson most northies are running away form Up and Bihar and coming in droves to Maharashtra and Karnataka. You must be wearing special tinted glasses. Please do not presume anything. I presume you have never ben to Tamil Nadu . Lots of Tamils are very dark and look like Rajani ( who by the way is not Tamil but a Marathi) and Vijay kant and lots of Tamils look like Madhavan Kamal Hassan and Ajit too. I do say looks are important to act but not always sometimes talent and charisma can take you to greater hoeghts. Look at Harrson Ford Robin Williams and Whoopi Goldberg. No one will call call them goog looking . However they have great charisma and acting talent which them popular worldwide. Even your Bollywwod heoros like Abisshek Bachan or Mithun Chakrabothy cannont claim anything in the looks dpeartment, incfact they look more like your so called Asuras ( which is more than 90& of the present Indian population). Your so called good looking heores do not bear any relationship to most Indian population form the NOrth South East of West. Most are of Pathan/Turkic origin. Whether they are Hindu or Muslim. Representing les than 1% of the present Indian ppopulation. Go and live in your Bollywood dreams. If you thin most NOrth Indians look like that you must be mad/blind or really living in dream world.

Stop commenting that everygood lookig Tamilian like Madhavan Ajit and Kamala Hassanas having NOrth Indian features. They are Tamilians having nice Tamil features that is all. Your comments ooze of racism and condescention. As if the entire South India is ugly and all NOrth India is goodlooking. No its not most NOrth and SOuth Indians are either plain and many oar eugly too. However there are thousands of goodlooking NOrth Indians and good looking SOuth Indians too. Even the HInd cinema had used these veru goodlooking Tamil .Telugu Kannada and Tulu females. The North has more hybrid blood than the South. however that does not mean it has the monoply on good looks. MOst caste Hndus whther form the north or South tend to have more sharper and more regular features than the poor or th elower and scheduled castes

I cannot stop laughing at you idiots. Even Americans have stopped thinking about skin color(Barack Obama). You buggers are still worried about people's skin. Remember Even shilpa shetty was called BLACK DOG. Grow up people. I am thinking , when you people come out this low mentality let alone India becoming SUPER POWER.
