Every actor who has costarred with Kamalahasan opines that the experience is like studying in a University.Maddy's remarks are not surprising because his performance in Anbe Sivam was a perfect foil to Kamal's brilliance. I thought that he matched Kamal in most scenes and perhaps he feels that it is the proximity with such a great actor that upped his performance. I see no reason why we should drag Rajni, Mammooty, Mohanlal etc into this discussion. They are all wonderful actors in their own right and would have no reason to feel belittled by Maddy extolling Kamal.

Yes, you are right. Why should any one drag others in this piece about Kamal Hasan? Also, why do people keep on commenting that Dasavatharam would be a flop? Did they see the movie?
There are fans who erect huge 50 foot cut outs for Kamal outside theatres when every movie of his releases. There are fans who fly from US to India to watch the first day first show of Kamal movies. There are fans who wait outside Kamal's house for days and weeks to get a glimpse of Kamal. There are fans who name their kids as 'KamalDasan', 'Kamal Kumar' to show their patronage. There are fans who stick posters of Kamal on the walls of Tamil Nadu in the nights and see to it that the posters are not torn away by their 'rival's fans.

i agree with you, but again TN is one of the most industralised as well as literate states in India. Filmdom is a industry as well. No matter the people are so passionate about the industry. The growth rate is the second best in INDIA.

Dont you feel the same when you watch thousands of music lovers crying and fainting in music concerts in the western countries? Every country has fanatics. Baseball in US, Football in many countries including Spain, Argentina and religion in islamic countries. Havent you seen people who talk nothing but celebrity gossip? In fact half the magazines in India thrive on movies and movie-related news. Tamil Nadu is one state where nothing else sells like Cinema. You cant just change it.

the above said superstars of mallu filmdom chilled in their spine when they hear about "Skakeela" movie relase and went in procession to stop it!!!!- you could not hear anyting could have happened in the any film industry -all other super stars unable to stop her fame through their acting went on the streets shouting!!

rajni is not paying the media to give him some hype... its the media hunting for some news about rajni and giving a hype.. and dont talk rubbish and compare rajni to SRK. watch old movies like 16 vayathiley, moondru mudichi, ninathaley inikum, where kamal and rajni both acted..even though rajni was not the main hero in these movies everybody remember only rajni acting more than kamal. in 16 vayadhiniley rajni's acting and "idhu eppadi iruku" is more famous than kamal's sappani .. Even kamal said in a function that he is happy that rajni shifted to a action hero from hardcore acting or else he will be main rival for me in acting .

Dude...You just cant say Amjad Khan is a better actor than Sanjeev Kumar just because even today ppl talk about Gabbar and not about Takur while reminescing about "Sholay"...That was because of the way the role was crafted and the dialogues which had the punch...Amitabh and Rajesh Khanna acted together in "Anand" and "Namak Haram"...It was Rajesh Khanna who stood out in both the movies...Does this mean that Amitabh is inferior to rajesh Khanna? Not at all...It was because the role was well scripted, crafted and well enacted...Thats it...Plus Kamal just had a cameo in "Moondru Mudichu"...His performance in Padhinaru Vayadhinilaey is still remembered for the brilliance with which it was enacted and the poignant portrayal...even Vikram, who is a ntional award winner too says that it was kamal's performance as sappani which inspired him to become an actor.

Jelousy? Ray is a great director. But there are equally great people in all walks of life, outside dear Bengal. But I undertand that for Bango, the world begins and ends with Rabindranath Tagore, the two Boses ( speaker type and the Nobel type), Mochi, phootball, Dada, Didi, Sen and Burman Da.
