Shiva is his finest performances as a villain ever. I think it is one of the finest in india. Apart from this anjali and other several movies he gave excellent performances.
Raghuvaran was one of the best villains, of the Tamil film industry. He had a great talent for playing different roles. Nobody can forget his roles in Anjali, Priyanka, Puriyatha Puthir, Badshaa, Padayappa to name a few classics. His range of acting was awesome. He had a beautiful voice. The Tamil Film industry will definitely miss him a lot. May his soul rest in peace. Ranjit
I was shocked to find that the writer forgot to mention the Malayalam movie Daivathinte Vikruthikal (God'd Mischiefs or Games Gods Play)which was released in 1992.Its a cinematization of a Novel of the same name by noted Malayalam novelist M.Mukundan. Raghuvaran brought to life the character of Alphonsachan who is passionately rooted to his birth place despite the promise of a comfortable life in a foreign land. It won the state award for best film.I still vividly remember the finesse with which the actor captured Alphonsachan's passion and pathos. I have to add that this omission does point to rather sloppy standards of journalism as the actor himself has on various occasions has stated that this role was one of the high points of his career.
"Rendu lorry la janaanni theesukelli, vaanni addamga narikey.."
He is a villian of his own style and at the same time, a powerful supporting actor as a brother (Run), husband (Anjali), father (Suswagatham, Anjali)..
We really miss a flexible actor with difference.. May his soul rest in peace..
One of the versatile actors in South Indian Cinema, Raghuvaran (as rightly mentioned in the article) is a different villain. While he could satisfy the masses, he also was accepted by the classes.. did not do cheap silly dialogs to make his mark but his expressions, timing, the way he delivered the dialogues made all the difference. If he showed a ruthless villain in Shiva, he demonstrated another side of his acting spectrum as a father in Anjali. To my knowledge these are two good movies of this star. One of the actors I really admired. If not for his lifestyle, probably a lot was still left in him. We all dearly miss him.
One of the Grestest Actor, who can act exactly what the character does. it's going to be big loss for all the tamil audience as well for tamil film industry...may his soul rest in peace. may the god bless his 8 years old boy.
