I remember to have spoken to Raguvaran in the year 1988 ,when he was at Apsara hotel in vizag. At that time he mentioned to me ,that his father wanted him to manage the hotels at coimbatore owned by them. But he told me that he has a great passion for acting and thats the reason he chose the cine field. He was honest and frank in his talk.I really admire his acting skills...particularly his special villainy characters and his effortless expressions.Full marks to this guy and may his soul rest in peace..
If I am not mistaken Raghuvaran won filim crtics award for the best actor for Daivathinte vikruthikal.A different charector and very matured performance.Truly deserved national award.

Raghuvaran was immortalised in Hindi cinema by his role as Bhavani and his frequent utterance of the word of the word Mamaji , his uncle come advisor. The best thing that we in Mumbai liked was his South INdian accent hindi which made him look all the more fearful and real. I still remember the dialogue in Shiva " kaun hain hain yeh Shiva, ek mamuli college student" in typical southie hindi style. His lean/mean figure made him all the more fit for the role. Yes he will be missed a lot. He was original but sad he did not do many hindi movies considering he was so talented but have to say the south indian films tapped his potential to the hilt. Guess that is normal, Bollywood does not entertain and take too many South Indians in their fold. Guess its discrimination. Its more of a north indian forte. Wish it changed. May Raghuvaran's soul rest in Peace. Have to say anoter person almost like him is the guy who played the role of Swamiji in Sarkar and the Police Commissioner in Satya. I dont know his name but he is another Southie Indian who can deliver performance which will be there to remember. Few South INdians come into Hindi cinema and make their mark for a long time. Mohanlal, Kamalhassan , Rajni are the other greats. Hail Southies !!!!! rgds Vik

how can you forget when he faced Dilip Kumar in Izzatdar & dilip Kumar was looking at corners in every confronting scene with him. Forget govinda who was nowhere near him in the same movie. Or his confrontation scenes with the Big B in Lal Badshah. They were just superb.
The most versatile actor that India has ever produced. Whatever the role he played, he caught the audience with his inimitable style. He was probably the most under-rated actors in the film world. I actually missed seeing Puriyatha puthir (which I wish to see sometime soon!). If his personal life had gone better, we might probably be seeing junior Raghuvaran. His short temper mixed with alcohol might have ruined his personal life. We all will miss him in the big screen, for sure.

Yes I agree Raghuvaran had the charisma and acting prowess of Al Pacino kind of Western actors ; He was too good and suave ; If only his personal life could have been peaceful, we could have had him acting some wonderful movies for another 10 to 15 years ; Honestly his best was yet to come ; He was not given his due ..Krish
Mark Anthony....................Mark Anthony!! and the many characters. What i remember of his was his interview on the TV. In the interview you could see the 'man' Raguvaran. So down to earth and so humble, despite his towering achievements. He laid bare his life and how much he suffered lonliness. After the interview i siad to myself i would like to meet this man. One never catches a 'shooting star' and here he is gone....................
