With all due respect to Rajni sir, he is no where close to Mohanlal or Mammootty in acting talent both of whom have won the Natioan Award for the best actor twice. He might be a box office star but even that didnt save his Baba if i remember. Buddy if u like crap movies suit urself. But there is no doubt that the quality of script, stories, performance in the malayalam movie industry is unmatched in India

Rajinikanth's acting is good as any other grtst actor whn placed in the right director's hand. He has worked w/k.balachander,mani ratnam,j.mahendran.
But its rajinikanth's own decision to do films w/hero and action roles. Whn kamal hassan said to him,"why do you use style in your movie?" Rajinikanth simply said its his way to success.
So its his choice to don the action hero w.his style,punch dialogues, and antiques.
Sure you can't see acting talents in rajinikanth in those kind of films, but not evn his fans choose to watch his films for acting but merely for his style, dialogues,action and hence entertainmnt.

I agree with the first two lines but not the last.
I think this movie will be a big hit, because Rajnikanth is way beyond the taste of Tamilians and he's too good for them and they like him. Never mind if wouldn't pass for a person in the crowd in a Kannada movie.
Tamilians will always think that Rajni is the best, east or west. That's their taste.

I think Rai you have a problem fine-tuning your hatred. You apparently have a soft-corner for Rajini (as all Bangalore people) and at the same time you want to bad-mouth Tamils. The tamil film industry is still a 'pan-south' indian one with generous dose of north indians, so try hard as you may you are cannot convincingly hate tamil films in totality!! (Ofcourse I too hate some parts of it)

What a comedy!!!! It is being remade from a Malayalam movie. Not Kannada movie. True not many know about Kannada movies, but Malayalam movies has been made into a lot of Hindi movies by Priyadarshan and in tamil too, starting from Chandralekha by Rajni to movies by Surya(as hunchback), Vikram(Mazhaa) and Prakash Raj

you know only mallu movies can grab national awards based on acting,stories,cinimatography..tamil movies are good for showing ties,stomach of mumbai based models, actors are not handsome too.and hindi movies r famour for their lavinshness on spending for song picturising and some smoocthing scenes..once i a while amir can give good movies...even priyadarshan is making hits bcoz of malayalam remakes in hindhi...when manichitratazhu of malayalam earned national awardsss,but when it become chandramuki it becomes a junk..hw many national awards got for tamil actors?? very few..but check net hw many awards for malayalam movies and actors..samja!!!

Actually bengali films,malaylam films,present tamil films, offbeat hindi films made by deepa mehta,mira nair,shekar kapur and now a telugu film(vanaja) have been winning awards at various international film festivals.
Based on this observation,bengali&all south indian films have either been maintaining their winning streak in making excellent movies tht has international standard, or have either been improving their cinema in now attemptin to make these kinds of films.
But bollywood has not startd makin these kind of movies good enough and continue not to attempt making these kind of movies.
So far bollywood is been seen as havin the "golden boy" image of its showcasing indian culture in terms of dress,jeweleries,cuisines,dances etc.. Also havin films tht has the family overdramatic stories, and action films tht only showcases muscles and good looks, and slapstick and childish comedies.
Thers the other "dark" image of bollywood and those films ar bein made by deepa mehta, mira nair,shekar kapur. Also the other "matured" image of bollywood w.films made by nagesh kukunoor,anurag kashyap and few maturd filmmakers.
Unfortunatly bollywood is very weak in teamwork and cannot combine the "golden boy", "dark/controversial", and "matured" image into one.
As always, on the golden boys will be shining the brightest and being more successful thn the others.
