do u understand the difference between a "adaptation" and a "rip-off"...the movie has been classicaly adapted...try to applaud good work...and if u r so smart then how did u miss the credits given to teh producers of "cavite"

not trying to be smart at all juee...just stating a matter of fact...didn't realise that credit had been given & i have nothing against adaptations at all...since the review by raja sen calls 'aamir' an original film, i just thought of setting the facts right.

well, I guess Raja has set the point straight before you did..

"
7. Because director Raj Kumar Gupta has achieved this fantastic nugget of festival-worthy cinema with a really low budget, and while scoffing critics may point to the Filipino film Cavite for inspiration -- a tall order in itself, this is a wholly original Bombay film -- he has shown Aamir to the makers and gotten a no-objection certificate for the same. End the originality/plagiarism debate now; this is our own pikchur, and one we should be proud of.

Aamir - Good movie but............
by ss on Jun 07, 2008 11:58 PM  | Hide replies

the self-proclaimed 'lord of reviwers' seems to hv missed the little fact that this movie is an indianised abridgement (raja sen's favourite term 'rip-off') of the brilliant hollywood thriller Phonebooth starring colin farrel & kiefer sutherland. but, a very gud attempt at that all the same.

This is the second review I read of Raja Sen after the Race Review..Im not so much into Hindi movies though I watch a movie everday!...Must say I agree totally with the reviewer.Aamir is one film that has to be appreciated for the effort. It grips you till the very end.Good work from the entire team of Aamir(music, acting and of course the cinematography,.The end could have been better with the build up created in the entire movie.(Also the dream sequence)However,Aamir is one of the finest movies made.Hope to see more of good Indian cinema in the near future.
