The plot of "Sholay" was lifted from Seven Samurai..does that mean that Sholay is not a great movie...scipt is important but far more important is the execution of its plot on the screen...watch Aamir..its a great movie...solid script, superb direction, classy camera work, tight screenplay, amazing music, first rate acting...what else do you need (unless you appreciate movies like Om Shanti Om)....

Aamir is definitely an exciting & different movie...the climax was too good...& u shud watch it.. but it is no masterpiece as Raja sen has described...it shud be applauded because a new director has made it..& it is original (hop so) & also shows mumbai 4 wat it really is..
but i feel some more character develpmont & inner conflicts shud hv been provided...the story shud hv been little more clear...like y did they choose aamir??
i don't get how Raja Sen analyzes movies at times, honestly i don't think what he does can even be called "analyzing".....if you gave aamir 4 stars then why did you go all sarcastic for sarkar raj....i get this feeling that Mr. Sen really does have a grudge against RGV simply because i haven't read a single positive review for his films on rediff....and one last thing....maybe you should stop rating a film's box office success within 2-3 days......not only that but your "rediff box-office" claims aamir and sarkar raj both have received a poor opening....be a bit optimistic once in a while
I agree it has great positives to talk abt like lovely camerawork, gud acting, brilliant background music, nice song and few more...
But how can we miss the faults in the scripts itself. I mean:
First of all, d intention of pulling Aamir into all that wasnt clear at all. If a terrorist group can spend days in kidnapping a doc's family, tracing him all over, calling him like dat, putting number of people behind him and blah blah, y cant dey plant a bomb thru sum member of their group who does it voluntarily. I mean, for example, if dat prostitue can get the bag changed, y cant she leave the bomb in the bus herself and similarly many other members of the group.
Second, in the end wat did aamir think of his family before doing it? Y cud he not throw the bomb in the digged hole instead of blasting it on road? Wat happ to his family thereafter? So many things dat dont make sense.
Overall it needs to be appreciated for the gud points abt the movie, but i guess 4 stars is a bit too too much. I wud giv it 2 or 2.5. Now dats my view, ur abuses r not welcome. Post reply only if u can do it decently.

I agree with you Rajeev...i had the same confusions abot the movie...bt its definately as good as wht Mr. Raja sen say's...I mean both sarakar raj and amir are equally good...and if write good reviews about amir then y not sarkar?dint you get any petty cash from RGV raja/rediff??;-)

Well, this is what I felt:
Aamir may have been chosen for the job just on the basis of his clean background and the fact that he was a Muslim returning from London. The terrorists, may be due to their 'not-so-good'track records, would not have wanted to leave any links to the police.
The reason why Aamir killed himself was probably because he had no way to get out of the mess he got himself into unknowingly. His family would have anyways been killed coz he did not blow up the bus. The terrorists would have easily tracked him down. Had he lived, the police wouldn't have left him as the workers at the construction site/ bus passengers had seen his face. They would have thought of him to be a suicide bomber backing out at the last minute. Either way, it was the end of the road for him.

Hi Guys, (Has spoilers)
Guess you (including raja sen) haven't seen the movie carefully. Aamir was chosen to conduct a blast in UK also, but he managed to escape from there and was hence returning to India. But he is tracked here and intentionally put into the trap.

Kaal,
I dont think anywhere in the film they have mentioned that he was chosen for a similar jb in London. Once the man says "Wahan (London)to kar nahin paaye ab yanah India mein to kaum ke liye kuch karo". I think you misconstrued from that. he was certainly not supposed to do that in London.

Good catch Abhishek. I think Jagdish miscontrued due to that dialogue. I also didnt notice anything like that from the film.
