This all boils down to individual freedom and individual responsibility
This actress has a right to wear whatever she wants. That is her individual freedom and no one can deprive her of that. Some of us may not agree with her choice. But we cannot stop her.
There are ways make yourself heard. Stop watching her films, write to her, stop supporting the products that she promotes, etc.
But to force her or to threaten her is harrassment and a crime.
Some are suggesting a "Dress Code". This is the level of insanity on this forum. Every adult has a right to wear whatever he/she pleases. I am a Muslim. My wife chooses to wear a headscarf. These are matters of personal freedom. We should not legislate these issues and force people. How are we any different than the Iranian Mullah ?
Same applies to opinions of writers or artwork of painters. As a Muslim, I do not agree with what Taslima write, but I respect her right to express her opinion. Same thing with MF Hussein. I believe his Nude painting of goddess was in bad taste. But I respect his right to do that. Same think with the cartoons of the Prophet (PBUH). I was offended. But that does not mean that the Danish should be deprived of his right.
We have become so intolerant. Its my way of the highway. No wonder we have so many fights and arguments in our communities over trivial matters
Lets realize something. We do not have to agree with an individual or his work in order to respect HIS/HER right to free speech.

Do not blame me for that. I am all for individual freedom and dead against censorship. I will never report a comment for Abuse.
the truth is dmk supported shreya,saying that govt cannot,and will not regulate what people wear,kanimozhi dmkchief's daughter also supported shreya,velmurugan raised this issue to get into news headlines,rediff has hiden the fact that dmk supported shreya and created a false impression the govt is involved in regulating and there by started a debate for tn bashing and to get more hits. watch cnn-ibn and others to know the truth

True, all these frikin sites...they are more dangerous to our society than those corrupt policticians....these guys hide the facts and want to maxximise their business shit...first of all when we have so much of issues around us....what shreya wears or not..is it such a big problem....man!!!!!!!!
shreya s so poor that she cant afford a proper dress...instead of discussing it in the state assembly al the members could have collected some money and got her a new dress of their liking...

even if they collect money to buy dress 80 percent of the money will be corrupted by the incharge and will end up BUYING A BIKINI ...
where were these guys when jawani 16 saal ki was released all those years ago. they would have peed in their pants. this is nothing compared to that...
The Govt has better things to do than to devote time or moral policing on what sriya or namitha should wear.Let the politicians and the political parties keep away from this sort of things.Film fans want their heroines to look attractive in all types of dresses and they feel happy about it.So do not rake up these issues in assembly or parliament.AS it is people are getting fed up with the politicians and the political parties.THey are no longer Role models.. and they are seen only as damagers of polity...so keep away from this moral policing.
Has the present TN Govt taken care of all the needs of the common man like Food, Clothing, Housing, Infrastructure, Medical Facilities etc, that they now spend time in such discussion? Just shows the sad state of our Country and its useless politicians.
