Gopi will be remembered for years to come for his acting talents. Though I have not got the privilege to see many of his movies the ones I saw were remembered forever. Chidambaram, Kallan Pavithran, Thambu to name a few which I saw where Gopi exhibits his excellence in acting. As he put it in one of the films-he always has a class!

Bharat Gopi, the eternal character
by BABU MENON on Jan 29, 2008 10:36 PM

Firstly, my heart felt condolences to his family and his millions of ardent fans. He was not acting in his films but was living as the real character. Let his soul rest in peace. May his films will give real inspiration to all to learn something valuable out of it.

May His Soul Rest in Peace

Gopi was certainly a natural actor. His exposition of an angry old husband in "Sandhya Mayangum Neram" was superb. A born actor ofcourse.

Such a great actor he is! May his soul rest in peace! A straight forward actor, he would have become a greatly publiscised personality if he would have supported left idelogy, so media did give much importance to him!

May his soul rest in peace. I remember watching a movie on DD years ago. Though I didnt understand a word of malayalam, I was so impressed by Gopi's acting and sat thru the entire movie (dont remember the name of the movie). He truly was a talented actor. Indian cinema will not get to see an actor of his calibre for a loooooong time.

He played a great role in the film Agnisakshi. He was the Mohanlal's father along with Devan and others. It was a touching film.

Bharat Gopi will be missed
by Anil N on Jan 29, 2008 08:24 PM  | Hide replies

Gopi is one of the finest actors ever. He is among the very few Indian actors comparable to Hollywood greats such as Marlon Brando, Orson Welles and Tom Hanks. His method acting, his ability to enter a character and become the character is beyond comparison. It is sad to see him go. Actors like Mohanlal or the Hindi bufoons like the Khans and the Bachchans can never fill his shoes

It is true that Bharat Gopi was an excellent actor with a lot of calibre but he suited well only in offbeat movies as he did not possess the looks befitting a suave and urbane character. Mr. Anil's comments on Mohanlal and other Hindi actors are totally unwarranted as they are a class of their own. Every actor has got his strengths and weaknesses so appreciate the art in a broadened form and do not try to be cynical.
