Dudes the comparison'w between Rajni and AB are pointless since both are very good in their own domain. Also Rajni owns a lot of his superstardom to AB since a majority of his earlier hits were remakes/adapations from AB's hindi hits. Eg: Billa was a remake of Don (This movie catapulted Rajni to superstardom) Padikathavan was a remake of Khud-dar Pannakaran was a remake of Laawaris Velaikaran was a remake of Namak Hallal Siva was a remake of Khoon Pasina Mr. Bharath was a remake of Trishul Thee was a remake of Deewar Maaveeran was a remake of Mard Baasha was a reworking of Hum. The list goes on... also the AB , Rajni combo in Andha Kanoon, Geraftaar and Hum rocked! At the same time Rajni rocked on his own in movies like Mullum Malarum ( A personal fave), Thillu Mullu ( remake of Golmaal but better), Kaali,Moondru Mugham (Alex Pandian, superb! ..), Murrattu Kalai,Netrikann, Nallavanakku Nallavan( almost a prototype of Padayappa check out!) Manithan (Masala to the core but beat Nayagan on its release making Rajni the box office champ),Dharmadurai and all his movies in the nineties post Dalapathy, Annamalai (EXCEPT BABA!). And in Hindi he rocked in Andha Kanoon, Hum and Chaalbaaz!

Forgot to add: The telugu Ram Robert Rahim was a remake of Amar Akbar Anthony although Rajni did the Vinod Khanna role in this, Krishna took AB's part
