Besides, malayalam,tamil,kannada films have been to foreign festivals. Mostly malayalam&tamil films, but a fair amnt of kannada&telugu films went there too. But it ws tamil&malayalam films that has won prestigious awards in cannes and other film festivals. Give alot of credit to bengali films too especially satyajit ray, the only filmaker india to win oscar(lifetime achievement award). Bollywood is only competing w/hollywood but thy are only competing against something invisible. Their directors ar not like deepa mehta,mira nair,shekar kapur who rightly deserves to make their films w/indian culture compete against hollywood films. Still they are very few.
Mamooty looks 100 times beter than This Black Rajnikanth....I dont know how this Black face will b seen as a super hero in the Tamil Version...AND Poor Simran I pity her..this is the Same Condition How Kiran Rathode had to Suffer when her Hero Opposite was Big Fat Dark Vijaykanth...And i HOPE THEY WONT sPOIL THIS fILM TOO lIKE HOW THEY sPOILED THE cLASSIC mALAYALAM fILM MANICHITRATHAZH WHEN MADE IN Tamil as Chandramukhi and in Hindi as Bhool Bhulaya...

P.vasu said he remaked films w/tamil audiences in mind and hence will change it according to them. So its fine,any wys chandramukhi ws the direct remake of the kannada version(aaptamitra), not manichitrathazhu. But this is the first remake of this mammooty film in anthr language. So lets see, instead of jumpin into conclusions. Rajinikanth is himself, and mammooty is himself. So no use of comparin as their is age diff. between them.

The reason for Bolly wood,tamil,telugu,kananda film is after malayalam mivies is pretty simple. Only Malayalam films very life touching..they dont fabricate much movies for superstars or audience.The malayalm audinece is very sensistive and dont get impressed by unnatural fight scenes and dance scenes.They love story based movies which are close to life.. Malaylam has got rich talented writers who write from real life experiences. (there are exceptions)

I am malayalee and i loved the malayalam film, it the best out of all the versions. The point is "Manichitrathazhu" was made in '93, the kannada film "Aaptamitra" was remade in '04, tamil film "chandramukhi" was remade in '05,hindi film ws remade recently, and lst but not least bengali film is remaking it, but not sure of the release date but its comes aftr all the south indy version. -Kannada film ws the first to remake it and i agree it ws not good, since they compltly changed the script and characters importance. It ws mentioned tht the reason ws to suit kannada superstar Vishnuvardhan for his audiences. The same goes w/ chandramukhi. But if you see the kannada film and tamil film, ther are similarites since the psychiatrist is given alot of importance than the possesed woman. For entertainments sake tamil adapted the kannada version. I agree the malayalam film ws the original and tht had the true essence of a psychological-thriller.

All said and done ..which ever version came first (i say malayalam)...All you guys should accept to the fact that chandramukhi was the biggest hit compared to all the versions and most of the world knew Manichitrathazhu only becos of Chandramukhi.

with regional languages not even gettin a shot at indian awards how can u expect regional cinema or regional actors to reach to whole of india. Well u give awards to SRK for his performance in OSO but forget regional movies where script is given more preference. But in Bollywood only showbiz sells.
Bollywood gives 1 or 2 script based movies a year but in regional languages is more than that. 'Eklavya' do u call it a film????

dont think that indian cinema is only bollywood and ppl who act in bollywood are the only actors in india .. Ur bollywood can dominate only the north states..every state in north see only bollywood movie and other regional movies like gurathi,marati or punjabi movies are not known. nobody in india knows who is the star in punjabi movie or marati movie ? But bollywood can even touch the south states like andra,kerala,TN and karnataka. These states have their own regional language and a superhit south regional movie is known to whole India. A regional movie star Rajni is giving a run for ur money for all bollywood actors...Any production company will invest more than 100 crores on this one man..Even adlabs invested 60 cr for his animated version sultan.. but the producers invested only 40cr for dhoom2 which had 3 top stars(ash,abhi,hrithik).. BEtter mind whome u ppl are talking about..ur actors cant even stand near rajni's animated version and writing some abuse comments out of jealousy.. Actually saying we should never even look at those cheap actors who get 4 cr or 5 cr for a movie..We have a superstar who get 20cr for a movie.
