Lets not creat rift against each other
by modernindian on Jan 16, 2008 05:47 PM  | Hide replies

This article only states that Vatican had slammed HP for promoting witchcraft and occult. It has not asked for a ban on this book. Parents are free to choose their children should continue to read it or not. I feel pity to see many comments which is simply creating rift against religions and not at all productive.

Blessed is the man who perseveres under trial, because when he has stood the test, he will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love him.
James 1:12

u mean to say that if u dont have wine and beef u can control sex desire. arent there others who dont have beef and wine...can they control it too.
we need to have scientific proof to accept this that foods effects one thinking . it is more mental...not the type of food u eat

its widely known that alcohol affects the way you think and behave, so is the case for caffine related products, and tea.. etc.,

what you eat, drink, see, hear, breath, sense (inputs) will affect the way you do thigs and react(output)

Mr Sitaram,

Then ideally all who consume beef or alcohol....
should react in the same way becoz of whats their inputs....Isnt it strange how different people react differently even after eating the same thing...??? how do you react after eating a lot of pulses....some people I know of fart a lot...???

Doubt: Gun
by sprsd on Jan 16, 2008 05:06 PM  | Hide replies

If the founder of a religion is shot dead using a Gun, whether a Gun would become a worshipful symbol and decorate the top of religious centres. Please clarify..

the cross is not worshipped because they killed Lord Jesus with it. The Cross has a symbolic message. The Cross Symbolises all the bad things Happening to us. and the fact that Jesus Carried it means he is ready to take all burdens on himself. even die to save us from our sins. The Cross with jesus on it is a symbol of love. love for god and love for all mankind

reply to max rod:
It's just a logical answer. The truth is it is worshiped as Jesus was crucified on it.

even if we go by your answer, why do you think cecile is an auspicious symbol ?

Cross was accepted in synod by the christain church some where around 7th century AD only. The people related to christanity accpeted that symbol.Muslims accept crecent,Hindus accept Trishul just like that.Every religions is combined with some Dogmas or Myth.May be most religions accpete a way from Jewism or Hinduism which were the earliest practising religions.

My stand on the matter of those that worship the cross is that if a person feels it helps him to identify with the sacrfice that Jesus did, no reason for others to object.
But your question as to why the Cow is worshipped is pathetic since that noble animal must be worshipped by every living human being. The human female's mammary glands that scores on exoticism is an absolute under performer when it comes to the its core function of feeding its offsprings . Every two legged anaimal that breaths on this planet owes his existance to that kindly breast that we call the cow and her contribution. Only the illiterate and equally ungrateful will fail to respect that gentle beast . Worship is the ultimate form of respect!

Folks, why to chatter unneceesarily . At least ,the Catholics have their Vatican City . What about Hindus in India? Do they have any seperate theological state and its head? poor hindus..they have been dragged by the RSS and BJP...a purely political and fanatic barbarian outfits....Tehn they have so many Hindu Hridaysamrat like L K Advani,Bal Thackrey, narndra Modi,Dara Singh etc.
The pity for hindus is that noone remembers and recalls Swami Vivekananda as the real Hindu Hriday Samrat

Ganesh....thats..a sign of insecurity...and guess what u needn;t..Religion like a lot of things is inherint...u have nothing to do with the fact that you are a hindu...i;m sure u werent given a choice...the same applies for people of other religions..secondly..extremeist organisations of any kind..using religion as a mask...should not be banned...but instead..ignored...thirdly..narrow mindendness is an attitude.and cannot be attributed as a singular trait of a particular religion ( the best schools in the country are run by christians...)...the country is doing so well..and it is simply meaningless to induldge mud throwing on religions which is such a private affair..come on...i guess we're cut out for more...what say..

I burst into peels of laughter, Ganesh. Christians would have made people like Modi better humanbeings. Why do the members of these steamrolls kill and maim innocent Indian Christians, Ganesh? Answer me Ganesh. Why do the members of these organisations educate their children in schools run by catholics?

A hindu doesn't need a state or a head. As hindu religion is not spread by evangelists it will exist even in the absense of all these stuff. For a hindu entire Hindustan is theological state.
I should say you should pity about yourself for being able to live in India inspiteof considering some foreigner as your HEAD :)..
