Yes I agree the body isn't every thing. Atman is the real thing. The point here is not about you and me. The point here is whether society can shove it's imaginary dress code into some individuals throats and cry foul. The point is that there are now Hindu Ayatollahs emerging. "Hindutvawada" had originally no Hindu Ayatollah concept. One of the progenitor of "Hindutva"- Mr Savarkar was reported to be a beef eater(???). So how come these Ayatollahs have emerged?
Even Lord Krishna said to Arjuna in the last chapter that- I have told you what is right and what is wrong and now it is upto you to decide. and Arjuna said "Karishi vachan tava" I shall do as you have guided. There was no threatening or force, no pressure.
The words "God fearing" are not used by Hindus. We don't fear God. We love God. "Krishna mera Sakha hai". We don't see God as a policeman waiting to punish the wrong doer but rather as a benevolent authority.
We won't let The Islamic Ayatollah concept come into Hinduism.
Dakhin:-Well, there are restrictions which people must follow in a society. Women can wear the clothes of their choice as long as it doesn't make them feel insecure in a society. It takes time for India to mature into a tolerant society where any outfit can be tolerated. It's better to go according to the times. And please don't think body is everything. It's the soul which is more beautiful so clearly enunciated in the Gita. Atman is more precious and beautiful than Sharir. What you see is not always what you get.
Sanjay Replies:- Who says "must" follow. The Gita doesn't say "must". "MUSTERBATION" is an Islamic fanatical idea. Draupadi with 5 husbands was our ancestor along with the lakhs of women who died as sati on the funeral pyre as well as the Adivasi Bengali women who didn't wear a blouse.
No matter what clothes a woman wears she will always feel insecure no matter how much a society defends her rights.
Yes It does take time for a society to mature but some one's got to be first. Maturation is a "period" of time not a "point" of time . It's a "continuum". Yes it is better to go with the times for you and my mom. Not for Rakhi Sawant, Shriya and Khushboo. You write as if some one on rediff is forcing you to show your cleavage. We surely haven't.

For what wearing this dress? If you know how to talk you can get any one for free. Dont you know that people who talks more are gals weakness.
I appreciate the dressing and all. 5 lakh for a night. Priceless man.But admire beauty
Shriya looks like an angel...never thought she would look so deliciously good.. lol.... i'll bet she has those Hindu Makkal Katchi drooling all over tamilnadu!! freakin perverts....
I've seen quite a few posts about people asking if one would let women in his house wear such clothes...it's crazy...why not?? if my girlfriend/wife/sister feels she looks good, she can wear what she likes and she has every right to do so...only it's important to see where she's wearing it...at a disc, friends party, hanging out together, college, celebrity event, dance show etc, WOMEN LIKE TO LOOK GREAT AND GET NOTICED...also, it's quite ok for hypocritic morons to keep raising an issue over this...they'll hump prostitutes, have mistresses, molest girls in their own homes, beat their wife and then shout about Indian culture...nothing much expected from them...the Hindu Makkal Katchi can kiss a donkey's ass....
