this is totally wrong......who says jodhaa akbar didnt work......it might not have taken an opening of the sort that OSO or Race took.,......but it gained momentum with the word of mouth publicity.......generally, move take a 50pc fall after its first week and subsequent weeks.......but the fall which JA took was hardly about 30-35 pc and it ended up earning 63 crores on the domestic front........it did extraordinary business in the overseas circuit as well..........it may not be a blockbuster, but it is definately worthy of the SUPERHIT tag.......
as far as comparisons with OSO go, dont forget that OSO released at a time when diwali-id holidays were at full swing.......and also because of srk's oublicity gimmicks.......the makers of Jodhaa akbar didnt resort to excessive publicity tactics and the only controversy attached to the movie was also genuine and not to promote the movie.....
and rediff is posing a wrong image in the minds of the viewers that JA is a flop........it mite not have taken an extraordinary opening all over india but, it gained momentum and was the first big hit of the year........the same happened with taare zameen par.........but is it labelled as a flop???.........no, because it wasnt.....!!.......also, not to forget that the film did not release in Rajasthan and faced unreasonable objections in other parts, which did affect its overall collections......otherwise, it was a sure-shot blockbuster.,....

what the F? OSO made 168 Crores and is the biggest hit ever in Indian cinema. But I agree that Jodha-Akbar is a decent hit too and is a well made movie.
