Amitabh should choose moovies according to his Age
by adil siddiqui on Dec 02, 2007 10:14 PM  | Hide replies

Amitabh should choose moovies according to his Age and roles and should not try to be compared with this generation of actors..He should maintain his disnity and should not do everything for money..like property related farmer issue, politics and advertisements like Navratna Oil(He would have never used) and misguide his lovers and fans.

We are his lovers and Fans and not misguided at all.
So which role do you think he should chose? Advertisement can be made with actors of any age. What's wrong with that?
Anybody in this forum or may be in this world, can you show me,,,who got such offers like BIG B and rejected them all?
Did you get any offer and thought that you don't need the money and rejected it?

Benefits of living in a democratic country
by on Dec 02, 2007 09:37 PM

Firstly, whatever Aamir Khans comments were about Black - they were his personal feelings..if you are living in a democratic country and have the constitutional right to express your opnion/feelings in public...no one should start judging those !!! Thats what I don't get , why do people care about what he thinks. There maybe loads of people who have critized loads of things but just cause something is said against Big B it needs to be published? Please give Aamir a break. He is one of the most sensible actors in bollywood. His opnions/personal life is not a concern to the public!
Secondly, if Aamir Khan doesn't attend award functions, its his personal choice, once again India is a democratic country and each individual has his own choices. You can't judge a person if they decline to attend an award function. Note - most award ceremonies are a waste of money and rigged. It would be wise to spend that money in the development of the country instead.

I am hosting an award ceremony in my gali. It is regarding the best star of my gali. An invitation has been sent to both aamir and bachchan.
Bachchan said he is delighted and hope to win but aamir declined to attend the ceremony.

That tells difference between aamir and bachchan

rajkumar. That does not tell any difference between aamir and BigB. It tells the similarity between you and aamir. Both are equally........

yes ....maybe aamir right in his opinion ...but i still dont know...why he done like that........
mean aamir may not liked film.... but he commented like that which is none of his business and creating such comments will ..hurt sanjay and amithji and will lose respect from them so i think aamir should not hve done like that.......... as he not critics or not giving review to any news paper!

Aamir - grossly overrated
by shaan on Dec 02, 2007 03:27 PM

wht in dworld does Aamir think of himself. he works at snale's pace, completes terrible films like mangal pandey in 4 yrs and then when his manipulative film on kids is about to release nd be hammered by Welcome(an out nd out comedy) he cumz out nd talks thrash about big b nd his black. I still rememberAamir talkin similar thrash about srk's devdas when Mangal pandey was about to releas, now hes using his publicity stunts against big b. Aamir will never b half as popular as big b nd wont ever be 1/10th of the actor thatBig b is ,even if hegets 9 lives. Forget Big B Aamir isnt even half as popularas his contempories viz. SRk, Salman. Hes basically frustrated coz his personal life is a mess nd not many industry wallahs r willing to work with him.

Well Said.I agree 101%.
Instead rising high AB falling down rapidly career wise as well as dignity wise by doing film like Cheeni Kum & Nishabd running after the young girls also RGV ka Sholay or Aag whatever it is.
Running after money only not bothered about his age & dignity.
Shame.

I fail to understand why one can judge an actor by the films he does? or what a film's story is like? Shouldn't it be based on his role performance? Why it's bad to do some roles that is the storyline/theme of the film (Nishabd, chini kum) ??

chini kum was a nice light movie, and absolutely nothin bad abt such roles anyway. however, nishabd was an utter waste of everythin ! talent, money, simply everythin ! so, although thre's nothin wrong in the concept, the fact that he chose both (similar) movies arnd the same time, released the same yr, tat was quite stupid ! U see Aamir, would never do more than 1 movie of a kind ! his is like a midas touch, every work of his is unique, and worth watching.( ofcourse sometimes stuff like mangal pandey happens ) but Aamir has a class of his own, no other ppl like SRK, Big B are comparable to him..

whts wrong in featuring in ads. big b gets moread offers than aamir coz even at 65 he has more mass appeal than aamir. aamirentire pr machinery basis itself on presenting hi as a sincere perfectionist etc, that too when acting isnt abt perfectionsm ,its more about spontanety.btw whrwas aamuir's sincerity whn he was makin crap like mangal pandey. isnt rdb manipulative.fanaa is the mother of all cliched films. black even though copied but itwas still much betterthn jungle pandey, fanaa etc

Nopes, Shaan.you have to look at Aamir career path, he has really developed in last 7-8 years. Pre Rangeela phase was a different period, he was new, raw and had to settle down and then afford to be choosy. So many actors started their career on one note kept stuck to that note and until they finished or grew old. But Aamir, No, he changed his path admirably, selected movies carefully and rewrote his career all over again. Managal pandey was not a classic like Shatranj ke Khiladi or Junoon (Mutiny subject) but Aamir efforts were there for all to see. Fanaa was again not a routine song and dance affair and so is RDB. You have to admit that he has grew tremendously as an actor. He is never seen at awards ceremonies, never dance in marriage/functions/ which is again Mr. Bachchan forte. Aamir has stuck to his guns and has maintained that very well.

Mr. Bachchan is a money making machine, right from chawanprash, soaps, biscuits, toothbrush, balms, you will see him everywhere. He has used every trick of the trade, every connections, politically or otherwise to amass every ward that is there to be picked up. He is known to switch sides, when Gandhi family discarded him, he switched over to Mulayam/ Amar camp, got every movie of Abhiskek tax free in UP, bought farm land (admit its not a crime), used state machinery, helicopters/police/all to his advantage. Nopes he has became too opportunistic for his age.

I was a great fan of his Movies, Sholay/Naseeb/Laawaris and all, but nop

I back Aamir
by subhajit dasgupta on Dec 02, 2007 05:18 AM  | Hide replies

If someone asks me what's my opinion about a thing, I am supposed to give my true opinion, not a political one, if I am serious. I think that's something one should appreciate. When a product is launched there are only three basic possibilities of customer-reaction: Good, Bad or Don't care. Aamir as a customer of the product said what he thought of the product. I back him because I felt the same way and more importantly, everyone has a voice of opinion and so does he. That does not mean the producer (or say the involved persons) of the product hits back to the customer. This is particularly true for art, since it's an abstract product, and could be taken in whatever way by an individual. Amitabh I think by reacting to Aamir in such a way and then clearly by getting personal, just has shown how brat and self-conscious hypocrites these people are. I did not like Black. It's not that I don't like dark movies. But I did not like it, period. Aamir was decent enough in his criticism not to go personal and explained very clearly why didn't he like it. He didn't draw parallel to his own movies. I am just disappointed to see such immaturity and smugness from someone like Mr. Bachan.

I truly agree with subhajit. One should take it in a stride and a movie is all about critics.Though i like amir over so called Big B million times i didn't like amir in fanaa.I belong to a class who enjoyed movies like sparsh which were close to reality in depicting a blind person and thier sensitivities. These days Big B will do every movie for bucks!!.He need not get so upset over amir's comments.Frankly i don't want to see his face anymore though i liked many of his old movies. But i think the problem is with the people today because they digest and enjoy anything that is shown on the screen.
