Nagina (biggest 1986 blockbuster film) Chandni (1989 Blockbuster) Chaalbaaz (1989 Blockbuster) Sherni (critically acclaimed) Gummrah (critically acclaimed) Lamhe (Overseas Blockbuster) Khuda Gawa (critically acclaimed) Aulad (hit) Himmat Aur Mehnaat (hit) Sadma ( critically acclaimed nominated for National Award that year) Won a National Award for the southern version of Sadma Nazrana (critical acclaim) Kshana Kshanam (hit and critical acclaim, Sri won Nandni award for this RGV film)
Sridevi was probably the only actress to outshine her male co-stars, even great Kamal Hassan and Amitabh Bachan. Nagina, Chaalbaaz, Chandni, Lamhe, Judwaai, were movies that was women centric to become blockbusters with Sridevi's performance.
RE:Sridevi is one of the few actresses to hit movies in role revolved around her

hai sri how are you.,,,,,,,,
If the Indian film is women oriented, no big star wants to share the screen. Either director has to settle with new star or a flop star.See the bollywood history
Dhadkan and Phir Milenge were world-class (woman-centric) movies, and an actress like Dimple Kapadia could carry any film. Indian actresses are the most beautiful and talented in the world, but most of the male actors are oafish buffoons. The problem is scripts and directors. Not that different in the West, really. But India has so many more lovely, appealing female stars who can only be eye-candy. Things are slowly changing, though.
In Hindi movies (or Indian movie in general)the female lead role is always half baked and they pass through hit movies as the male actors role is good is the product as a whole is good, so now when it comes to a women centric movies firstly our film makers are confused as to how to project the lead ... so they put a boring (read - non saleble hero) why? My guess they would do not want to confuse the audience, but that's what it precisely does as if a women is portrait in a strong role we expect her choice of the partner to be equally good and finally expecting her to do all the things a glamour female lead does even though she has problems and mission on her own. So the bottom line is film makers have to mature and understand the character better than just attempting a female oriented subject just for the heck of it
