On the other hand OM SHANTI OM, which has seen excellent collections in week one and promises to break week 2 record as well, doesn't really enjoy such luxuries. Barring current week and the weekend of 14th December, every subsequent week sees a major box office release. While GOAL arrives on 23rd November, AAJA NACHLE comes on 30th November, DUS KAHANIYAAN on 7th December and the trio of WELCOME, TAARE ZAMEEN PAR and HALL BOL on 21st December.
With such huge competition in hand, if OM SHANTI OM still manages to stay on in the limelight and earn more than 85 crores, it would certainly be an achievement in itself.

First week collections of OM SHANTI OM are out and the film has clearly left behind the DHOOM:2 first week record of 35 crores far behind. At 40 crores plus, the film now stands as the biggest Bollywood box office opener of all times. The million dollar question now is whether the film's extraordinary run would continue for next few weeks as well, hence crossing the 85 crore target set by the YRF production?
While DHOOM:2 had opened at 35 crores, it had gone on to record very good collections in the subsequent weeks to touch the 85 crore mark as well in around 10 weeks. In fact the second week of the film had seen further 22 crores coming in while the third week also crossed 10 crores.
However, the film also benefited from the fact that a) it was a sole release and b) films like BABUL, ARYAN and KABUL EXPRESS were hardly any commercial competitors. In fact BHAGAM BHAG was the only film which boasted of good box office collection after DHOOM:2 in 2006.

Yeah as if SHRK is Dictator of India and he can actually manipulate the whole media. I'm amazed to see so much of hatred towards SHRK that people are even alleging Indian Media for being biased. Kudos to u all!! Onething is for sure OSO take the Sh@t out of every SHRK basher and these people can only cry foul now ...I never knew that Sanjay L B is so poor that he wasn`t able to do what SHRK did....he cud have had done the same thing to declare Saawariya a blockbuster but ALAS! atlast SHRK THE DICTATOR of INDIA did it .....and yeah no other star of bollywood is able to MANIPULATE MEDIA AS THE SHRK CAN ?? RIGHTO U BASHERS!!! So again it proves that SHRK IS THE KING!!! HEHEHHEHEHEHEHE...now u guys keep on SULKING!!

I wrote to BOXOFFICE INDIA...how they these figures when I am seeing only 20 people sitting in the theatre. They could not reply. Alll figures are utter trash. Nobody is saying how much SRK paid to make this movie and do such publicity. Its a total loss for him. Check ibosnetwork after few days and you will know the real fact. GURU is still 2007's best worldwide.

Hi all, i have been reading most of the OSO threads and it seems that most ppl have not liked this film...but most of them r saying that bcoz they dont like SRK...Guys lets be proud of the fact that it has left Tom Cruise starrer "Lions for Lambs" behind...this is the first Bolly movie to do so (correct me if i m wrong)...what i have heard from those who have seen this movie is that the movie is total timepass and thats what matters in the end...

Isn`t it amazing that they don`t like SHRK and even then they go and watch his movies .....hypocrates !!! Big time!!! They r just sulking !! OSO is a blockbuster ....n when i say that then they will say that it is all MEDIA HYPE ....Goshhhhh.... How Indian MEDIA can so damn BIASED TO ONE MAN!! Is it a one man SHOW ????????? ITS STILL A FLOP...because LOTS OF MONEY IS SPENT FOR THE PUBLICITY. EVEN JOURNALISTS ARE PAID HUGE AMOUNT TO WRITE THIS NUMBER... NOBODY IS TALKING ABOUT HOW MUCH IS SPENT FOR THE MOVIE. ON THE OTHER HAND SAAWARIA MADE ITS MONEY BY SELLING RANBIR"S TOWEL ONLY.

A lot of money has been paid to rediff by OSO producers n farah ... coz this movie is not even worth to be seen by cheap pirated CD... but rediff u have chance to improve your website wid that money coz there are lot of spywares in your website...better upgrade it..
Yes OSO is SRK's biggest hit to date but it's his worse film in terms of content and acting. If he is proud of it, let him be! I don't see anything to be proud about apart from the collections.
