Nothing there to enjoy
by Abhin Sankar on Nov 15, 2007 11:19 AM

Last day i went to see the film OSO with much expetations. But what i got the impression is , there is nothing in this film to enjoy. The media only made this film "GREAT", or may be the shahrukh kahn's exaggerated publicity. Otherwise, in my opinion, this hyped movie is really boring..

My Review of Om Shanti Om- post 2

Technical department deserves some applause for the Song picturization of yesteryear actors along side with Deepika Padukone. The Magnificent sets by Sabu Cyril and cinematography by Manikandan are the definite highlights of the film. Music by Vishal shekhar is good and syncs well with the mood of the movie.

Off course, when it is packaging of all the right elements, you expect a lot of skin show. It is in ample and is targeted to satisfy the male psyche.

To sum it up, Farah Khan knows that the right kind of packaging will work with the Hindi film audience even if the quality suffers. So we have a real commercial movie which will satisfy Sharukh fans and for those who look for more color than substance. There is nothing genuinely creative about the movie.

My Review of Om Shanti Om-post 1

It is all about Packaging!!

Om Shanti Om is all about Packaging: murder, revenge, songs, fights, babes, happy ending, comedy, special appearances of film stars or anything else you name it. They are all part of the flamboyantly done package known as Om Shanti Om.

So here we have Sharukh from the seventies as a junior artist reincarnated into 21 century as Sharukh himself. From then on, we have ride that is quiet predictable and as mentioned earlier in the flamboyant manner. So in between the story of love, death, reincarnation and revenge, Farah has added many songs including item numbers and particularly the one that features almost half of the Hindi film industry.

So in course of the journey through the movie, if anyone asks what is really creative about the movie, well it is nothing to be precise.

About the plot: we have a junior artist (Shahrukh Khan) falling in love with a film star (Deepika Padukone) and then the villain producer (Arjun Rampal) who has other plans and who will be responsible for the death of both junior artist and the film star.

Of course story does not end here, Shahrukh Khan is reincarnated but in his second life he is a Superstar. And the expected happens, the scenes from his previous birth come to his mind and he gets ready for revenge.

hy guys, we dont wanna real story in movies. movies are made for only entertainment (especially in Bollywood). If you watch Hollywood movie Matrix, you don%u2019t complaint about it. if same story made in Bollywood or South Indian movies - YOU HAVE COMPLAINT (why double standard like Americans)....???

OSO is a real entertainer (NO DOUBT)

Yes the movie was funny in parts but the second half is pretty difficult to tolerate. Except for the Awards nite even the jokes looked jaded. This one is no comparison to Mai Hoo nah which was an out and out entertainer.

Even i am left wondering whether i saw some different film from the Critics and the analysts who r raving about the film. The first half falls flat because sharukh cant do the spoof properly while the second its boring. And they say saawariya is boring?

IF the driver of the bus is not driving properly would you not complain.
what if the driver says, ok lady, stop whining and drive if you want or else dont complain.
certainly you wouldnt want to drive.
the point the critics are making is that when you are making a movie make it good. If they felt it is boring then it is their opinion. It is your choice whether to listen or not to listen.
I liked Khan in chak de.. it was a real good one. I am sorry i really wished there was a fast forward button in OSM.
