Mr. Sameer, dont see the commercial films and classical films through one eye. At least the Directors like Adoor are such great people that they follow a serious attitude towards their movies. They are not bothered about the income out of their movies. They just want to cast some problems being faced by the present day society. They are trying to show us the reality. That doesnt mean that they should give any solution to these problems. No films either it is art or commercial does not solve any problems of our society. What is your opinion? People should watch the today's masala films and our young generation should follow that by using guns, taking the law in their hands, love, killing etc. What problems these commercial films solve? Nothing. Just these films are only for entertainment. Art films are for realizing some truth and we should think of it. Your advice that people should read about investment and technology and western classicals clearly shows what is your intention. That means you are the typical example of our current generation. Whatever in India is not good, all from Western countries are the only good things. Very pity of you. It is shameful for all Keralites to know that you are a keralite. You like that culture where parents should be loved only on 'Father's day and Mother's day' and change wives like changing vehicles. Our India has a great cultural heritage. People like you are the notoroious sons of Bharat Mata.

You are right. The art films are only for people who understands that there are people in this universe who lives a different life with different problems and different priorities. Others can watch Karan Johar's types of movies and feel happy about it.

To solver ur problems visit ur nearest doctors/psychistrist etc. Movies are not meant to solve the problems.
These movies are anchronism, doesn't have to do any thing with todays capiltalistic and technology centered world. These worlds exist only in the fantacy of intellectuals like Adoor. It lacks reality......

taking commercial film requires more talent & hard work instead of this sleepy movies. They can just keep the camera in one place. write dialogues what comes to their mind, because you can escape in shelter of classic & art movies. I will rate commercial movie directors better than these directors who takes only for film festivals. Waste of time.

man.. u can watch the movies talkin about the lives of the rich.. and be content about it.. but, being socially responsible requires you to be aware of what ur brethren are doing.. and how they are faring.. the right movies are those which make people think, and which smell of the good old sand that we walk on..

So Kurusova, Satyajit Ray , Bergman they are all crap stuff, leave alone adoor. Long live Aditya chopra and Karan Johar. Finally SRK marries Kajol and all are happy. Lots of creativity and acting talents in it. Finally SRK's romance is what the whole world is craving about. Happy ending

fair then .... his films are not meant for your sensibilities .... but dont generalise ur comments , there are many who likes his films thats why he gets sponserers for his films.... only people u will get support are likes of srinivasan and senthil (we all know why !!)
He is a legendary director like Satyajit Ray. But normally his movies are shown in foreign film festivals and generally people don't watch his classics in a movie house in Kerala. That is why he told in a press conference that he wants the movie to be watched by the people rather than going with the film to a few film festivals. I am going to watch this one.
There are a few Directors in Indian Cinema who raise the flag all over the world. Adoor is one of such genious directors. His present attempt through the film "Naalu Pennungal" (means four women) is a great attempt in Indian Cinema. This article give its readers a brief idea of the film. Congrats to rediff news for such an article which makes a difference than the general reports of Indian Cinema. The present article is really an honour to Adoor as well as Indian Cinema. We expect more such articles in future also. Best wishes

True! It is only a genuis who can think of out of the ordinary ... maybe sometimes absurd... but it takes a genuis to think of topics like thin lines between official and un-official, morality versus temptation, etc and weave a story around it.
