I dont know who has put the article on Rediff. You must realise that you dont have to measure a persons value if he does something in America. So what if malakar was a candidate for American Idol.... ?
Focus on articles that are relevant to our society so that youngsters dream of doing big in INDIA and for INDIA, rather that your obession with America

Ashish is absolutely correct... Indians will be Indians no matter where they live on the globe! Lets be proud of each other- and stop pulling each other down like crabs!

Hey .. cmon your thinking is bad. I wish Indians should do good everywhere on the globe. We should shine not only in our country but every country on the face of this earth.
I wish to see India spread far and wide. Staying in india and doing good for India sounds great, but you forget that these unofficial ambassadors of our country play a big role in shaping the opinion of the world towards us.
India is not just peole living in India, its also shaped by people living outside it in innumerable ways.
I have had enough with this garbage. SANJAYA CAN'T SING. And American Idol is a SINGING competition. Don't you get it ? Lets add some more: Sanjaya looks like a beggar and is a LOSER. Rediff.......Please stop catering to losers like Sanjaya. There are winners like the Calcutta kid who scored 2370 in his SAT exams. That's NOT AN ACT. That's hard work. Cater to him.

How awful of you to say such a lowly thing! Shame on you~Sanjaya CAN sing. He just doesn't have a big voice, but he will get better and better with experience. He's a sweet, handsome and talented boy and he's going to go far in this business. As for you - where are you going?

If Sanjaya looks like a beggar then why are the pre teen American girls so fond of him? By the way, American Idol is not just a singing competition, it is also a popularity contest. Whoever gets more votes wins - regardless of singing talent!
This is very common with Indian parents that my kids were smart even when they were toddlers. As a parent, we should encourage our kids to work hard instead of praising them and make them think that they are reincarnation of Einstein or Newton.
Stupid rediff should know better. Do your research better next time before posting articles and question yourself if you would like if the same article is posted on some other website.
