well, now that the movie is out all over the world, Rajni fans are proclaiming this is his best movie ever. The trio of shankar, rahman, n rajni has exceeded expectations of fans. In Phoenix theatres, Americasn who saw the notice declaring WEEKEND SOLD OUT FOR SIVAJI, came up to us standing in queues, an asked if the movie had subtitles so taht they could also watch it next weekend. The negative replu sent them back disappointed. Once inside the hall, Rajni fans were screaming, cheering and loudly applauding their hero's wisdom, and jokes. People come to a rajni movie for the feel good factor. Movie stars are made bigger, idolized just because they do things that an average person would find it very hard to do, adn people find pleasure in seeing someone else do the very same things that they cant. A darkened cinema hall, with the screen in fromnt of them., lets them forghet worries of the saner world outside. In Sivaji, some of the stunts remind you of the Hollywood movies, The mtrix,a dn Pirates of the Caribbean, it doesnt actually matter. That the only hit for Kannada. I saw most of the heroes there are only 'Devangus'. Your literature is great. But not the movies. If you have hits in a row, why you do not want other movies to be shown in Karnataka? If there is a competition, your films' sucks. This condition is not same here in Andra or TN.

Rajini turns sick as a result of sivaji
by ganga gowri on Jun 05, 2007 11:15 PM

Rajini said he is not going to act with young actresses anymore because he cannot be that agile when compared to young actresses. He fell plenty of times during the song sequence "Natappathu Un style". He is planning to act only with oldies now. Atlast he realised he is getting old. Rajini himself said with make up he can look young, but his body doesn't feel young. Read article from cinetreat. Now the young heroes will get young actresses. I don't know how come kamal is still fit. May be looking fit. We all don't know what is real and what is fake. Rajinikanth good work so far. Now it is time to relax and rest.

AR Rehman - Unethical ?
by Nazir Patel on Jun 05, 2007 09:04 AM  | Hide replies

I am most critical with my own voice. You know that Tera Bina song in Guru was not originally sung by me. It was only at the insistence of Mani sir (director Mani Ratnam) I recorded it in my own voice."
Rehman believes in rights and royalties. It was very unethical for him to to redo a song that was sung by another singer.

Rights and Royalties usually lies with the producer or music director (Rahman usually insists on retaining the rights). So legally it is not a violation at all.

In an ethics level also fail to see any violation. First of all the song was not published or released publically. As an artist he has all the right to try out various voices, sounds and combination before making the final version. Your arguments is synonyms to saying a director has no right to edit or re-shoot parts of a unreleased movie or an author re-edit/layout a section of his unpublished book. To change the texture, feel or voice behind a song is a music directors right.

I came across this AR rahman music by chance, and I must say I was hooked immediately irrespective of the fact that not a word was undertood by me. ARR has done a brilliant job here. What impressed me was the massy tunes, this must be the rare occasion of Rahman''s music where I did not have to wait for it to grow on me.

Great going ARR. 2 sucesses in a row. Hope he keeps up the tempo in JA and other releases.
Best of Luck! Thumps up!

Not only you, even tamilians also would not a word in any song composed(?) by ARR. He is the fellow who brought all useless voices and spoiled the Tamil film music forever. He is a curse to film music. Look at greats like C R Subbaraman, K V Mahadevan, M S Viswanathan and Ilayaraja. This ARR is not even fit to touch their feet.

WHO IS THIS RAJNIKANTH ?
by Pseudo Nym on Jun 01, 2007 01:12 AM

.-contd- It would be a mistake to compare this Badshaa of box office with any other Indian actor, he has his own fan following who like him the way he is, in a world were glitz and glamour should be a part and parcel of any person who chooses to live in that world, this man has chosen to be real in the real life(posing for photographs with bald head, unkempt beard etc..), some find it idiotic about the way he looks and wonder how this person could be some one who has won the adorations of millions of fans around the world, what ever might be the reasons, at the end of the day an ordinary auto driver who goes for a movie after a days of hectic driving would want to come out of the movie hall with a satisfied smile on his face and Super Star movies have sure stood up to those expectations and will continue to do so in future. - Prasanna Kumar

WHO IS THIS RAJNIKANTH ?
by Pseudo Nym on Jun 01, 2007 01:09 AM

"Rajnikanth" what is it, is that a name of a person, if yes who is he?. Now if I ask that question to somebody and if I said to him that I am an Tamilian I would be considered by him as an alien from mars or Jupiter even if he doesn't patronize the person who carries that name and I am sure millions of others who patronize that person more than what the word patronize means will consider me as some dumb head who is out of his mind and seriously needs an assistance of a lunatic asylum. "Super Star Rajnikanth" the name itself is enough to elicit the charismatic picture of a person, trying to wear a pair of glasses in his own branded way of style in the minds of all the tamilians around the world, he has been a phenomenon in the Tamil film industry. Now things have grown big with respect to Tamil film industry and so are the things about this actor. Now he is considered to be the highly paid actor in Asia next to Jackie Chan, now that is really big considering the fact that when the world talks about Indian film industry its only referring to films from Bollywood. The efforts of many great actors like Kamal Hasan to take Indian cinema to the world is commendable and is quiet worth mentioning but this man known only for his striking gimmicks and movies that never cross the boundaries of the genre called entertainers has for sure given an identity to the Tamil films by marking a dot in the map of world cinema.-contd-
