priority for SC
by Anusha R on May 14, 2007 01:33 PM  | Hide replies

my deal HOn'ble SC Judge..please keep aside all other pending files and attend to this KISSING impromptu. Since in the natural course of justice all other case would take its own sweet time to settle/judgement, this KISSING episode, if delayed would culminate in to many more activities and more and more kissing in the meantime. Please come out with a verdict to ban KISSING in India to be visible to public in any form...let it be, mother-son, father-daughter, boy friend-girlfriend, teacher-student, whatever.... and do not importance and/or take Cognizance of child marriage, child rapes, gang rape, molestation, abduction, bride burning, etc.etc. as these types of petty offenses are a regular thing for us and does not reflect badly in our culture. Indian are allowed only to exhibit hatred, not love or affection.

There are so many kissing scenes in Hindi movies - should Aamir be behind bars (except for his communal outbursts)? Amitabh (except for his tax evasion)? And lots and lots of other actors.

The saffron brigade.
by Vijayan Nair on May 14, 2007 01:24 PM  | Hide replies

Whether it is the Shilpa Shetty-Richard Gere incident or M.F. Hussain episode or the MSU Arts college goondagiri, on what basis is the saffron brigade claiming to represent Hindus ? I am a staunch practising Hindu and I feel ashamed of such behaviour. The BJP and it's saffron associates should understand the moderate and tolerant nature of the majority of Hindus, otherwise they will be looked at as the "Hindu Taleban" and thrown out of mainstream life within their own land. It is about time they sat back and analysed why they get so little votes inspite of the nation having nearly 80% Hindu population?

Its all Kisses these days in India

1. Vasundhra Raje and Kiran Shaw's lip lock.
2. Hrithik-Aish kiss in Dhoom 2
3. Rakhi Sawant-Mika
4. Shilpa-Gere

Instead of protesting, keep patience...very soon we will be watching full length porn films via media and news channels. This is sure to get high TRP's, most of all children and young adults. Next, dont feel irritated if young children in schools publicly kiss each other and teachers in full view. If things get so open in a closed society in India, it will create serious trouble. The point is we dont care, who kisses whom...the point is that it shud not be in public view, and shud not give wrong signals to people who will think that these things are now accepted in society in open.
Instead of giggling after THE KISS, Shilpa should have apologised for Gere's behaviour, and shouldve asked excuse for him, since he weas a forigner. But she preaches only on TV, which is speech drafted by her media managers...what she has in her head in different. If she is open, why her mother is always by her side? Julia Roberts ki Maa, uske saath her jagah jaati hai kya???
Just double standrard every where, nothing else.

You are right.Shilpa has to praise Richard Gere as she wants a break in Hollywood. Most of her movies were flops in India hence she needed a big brother and now she needs a Godfather for a break in Hollywood.

I am sure her Mom wont mind anything been done by the Hollywood actors as long as the moolah keeps coming

Sanjay, even if she did it for hollywood, what's wrong with it? Almost all 'heroines' (except the khaandaanee people) go through the casting couch. This was only a kiss, which is very common in western civilisation, whose films we all watch and plagiarise from.

How does India become a red light zone because gere kissed shilpa?
.
Neither shilpa, nor gere represents India. And in this case, the media has rightly criticised the action against gere. This condemnation does not need a plan.

I appreciate Shilpa's guts for not apologising to the public. She is absolutely right. She is actually supporting a good cause, for any chance if these kinds of happenings happend, people should take it sportively.

Criminal case.. for this ???
The courts should be interested in delivering justice to long pending issues like cruelty towards women, rapes, murders. Why should such a simple issue like this has to ever enter the Supreme Court. Don't they have any other job.
She is fighting for a just cause and if it needs publicity this way, so be it. We have seen enough vulgarity in movies. This is peanuts. Leave her alone!
And dear judges, please dont waste time on such cases!!

Cruelty towards women -- even all these are biased cases. Repors say 98% of dowry harassment cases are false and filed by educated urban women only to quicken divorce cases and to extort and milk husbands.

Now the courts have also given permission to women to have extra marital relationship if she is not happy with her spouse.
