Periyar and their followers
by Ramamurthy Rajan on Apr 01, 2007 10:19 AM  | Hide replies

The funniest part is that all the statements by Periyar and his likes supporters have only one statment so far.. which clearly shows that lack of education (I am deliberately using the word education and not degree) and any lack of self respect for their own identity. The interesting part is that all their statements are nothing but rote from rhetoric statements used by their so called leaders. Fascinating, init?!? This clearly shows that that they don't have any self-belief and they seem to be waiting for some judgement day for some strange periyar types to come and deliver them their "utopian" society. The problem is that the so called social justice parties are busy fighting amongst themselves to ensure their caste dominates....i.e., once a leader is there and has become a MP/MLA make sure their family dominates. If an avergae follower of that leader wants 1% more than what he/she has got, they will be kicked in the gut so bad that they don't dare ask any more from their "supreme" leader. What a facade in the name of social justice!!

The best part is that after that they will blame the brahmins for getting their ass kicked. Hmm, wait a minute, doesn't this remind us all of something else? Dictators use this methodology as a common ploy to deviate from the actual problem. Invent an enemy who doesn't exist and blame all the ills of that society on that enemy. This keeps the dictator in power and the common people wait for their great day when all their dreams will come true....

I fully agree with you, Mr.Rajan. What is needed for the Periyarites and other anti-Hindu/ anti-brahmin minded people is to sit down calmly and really research the origin of the hatred. They will on their own -if they do some unbiased investigation and reasearch- find out that the devil of hatred against their own people was foisted by the wily colonisers, the last of them being the British. They wrote distorted history under a direct plan and fiat decreed by their crown and even tacitly given assent in their shaky and divided parliament of mid and late 18th century. The East-India Company owners who had seen and tasted the wealth of India initially as traders and later as mercenaries, proposed a heinous plan to the king, the main thrust of which was for the British government to commission a 'history mission' to write a history of India which depicted the oppression of the natives by the Brahmins. The reason: Brahmins were the main hurdle to Company's diabolical plan of capturing power as they were the intellectual class and every ruler as well as the masses looked up to the brahmins for knowledge and wisdom. Besides, the brahmins always preached peace & tolerance and being pacifists and contemplative by nature had completely lost all power to be assertive and fight back when attacked. However, they were respected and protected by others, especially the other classes and castes, who would not tolerate any such misdemeanour against them by any outsiders. So the plan was to plant seeds of hatred, which was slowly and pains-takingly developed in the form of serious -but entirely concocted- history of India. This was taught in all missionary schools and also used by their evangelists to powerful effect. Anybody really serious to know the truth can find in the archives of British parliament in the Westminster Abbey how the diabolical plan was given shape, given full parliamentary approval and executed to demonic effect. Present-day western historians have openly acknowledged this and have even documented the correct sequence of events. Many historians even bemoan the debauchery played by their ancestors against many native populations and races of humanity in many continents of the world, including Australia, New-Zealand, North America, South America the West Indies and the Pacific Islands apart from India. Present-day scientific historians of India and rest of the world have shown through many archealogical as well as satellite imagery, have juxtaposed the truth against the prevailing but dying untruth!! Anti-brahminism is part of that fictional and devilish untruth!!

VIJAYA BUDDHIRAJU
This movie should be banned
by VIJAYA BUDDHIRAJU on Apr 01, 2007 05:40 AM

This movie which Portrays Rma as villan and Ravana as the hero should be banned. The periyar followers were carrying Rama's statue with chappal garland in Madras. Essentially, this will be an antibrahmin pricture which fuels caste hatred. The guys who support movie, will not leave their caste yet blame the Brahmins for a system that is every where, if not by birth, by some form or the other. Any idiot who writes that Brahmins are responsible for caste has to answer as to who created Brahmins. Brhamins lived poor and every God form that they protected was not a Brahmin. The Brahmin contributions to Indian society is beyond the call of their duty. What ever faults they may have, their contributions and sacrifices far out weigh the faults. They are easy targets to idiots of India because they lived poor and given an gave an order to society. Without their 16 samskaras, one of which was marriage, every one of us would have been bastard children living like tribals. I think Mr. Ithink Periyar was also a Brahmin just like Ravana. Vijaya Kumar

Looks like you havent had the chance to see her game shows on TV - I would say, like Amitabh, the adulation for her turned into respect once she came into the small screen. The big screen as we all know cares more about curves than about intelligence. So pls do your research before you make such comments.

I feel sorry for you - before making

kushboo recently gave remarks about virginity of women in TN and that was in Periyar's policies who questioned marriage, one man - one woman philosophy. Great! They have found out an apt character for kushboo. Useless lady!

You guys fall for all the rhetoric that is mouthed by DMK, ADMK, MDMK, DPI, PT, and all the new parties that are sprouting in TN. Tell me which party has actually done to improve the quality of your life? This means, setting up good infrastructure, industries, projects and providing the means for the hardworking farmers to sell their produce. If they do this, then you will automatically don't need issues like Brahmin Vs Non-Brahmin. For all the hatred between Jews and Palestinians.. they actually do business together in places like US, Europe, and even UAE. This means only one thing...that as long as there is trade between people, then religion and caste becomes irrelevant. I am a Brahmin, but I will have no hang ups working with any race, as long as they are qualified to do the job. If this means Brahmins and Jews are selfish, then so be it. 'Cause, utlimately, pragmatism wins...not empty rhetoric.

Listen to song called 'What God Wants?' by Roger Warers, the former band member of Pink Floyd. There is a line in the song that says, I quote, "The Germans killed the Jews and the Jews killed the Arabs, and the Arabs killed the Hostages and there is the news! Is it any wonder that the monkey's confused". The line is so apt for us Indians too. Just plug the Germans, Jews and Arabs with Hindus, Muslims, Christians, Dalits, Sikh's....in any which way. Us human society will never learn to deal wth issues in peace.

Mr. Prakash A, I don't care if this upsets you to no end, but guess what, I have news for you. By kicking the Brahmin's or your so called british theory of kicking the "Aryans" out means only thing....destruction of the neo-India. BTW, don't worry, most educated people, be it Brahmins or not, are leaving TN..thanks to politicians like Jaya, MK, Stalin, Baalu, Vailko, PMK, DP. Wake up and smell the sun. The same DP chief, or the PMK chief swing between Jaya, a Brahmin, and MK, an OBC to beg for seats as it suits them. They are not fools. They use fools like you to get to power and forget about y'all. Just ask people in UP and Bihar what have the so called so called "Non Manuwadi" parties have done for people like chamars and other SC/ST tribe.

So, if I were your Prakash A, I would shut up and go about getting "real" education and a job to keep my life going and not worry about early 20th century talibanistic rhetoric of Periyar or any other "leader" like him. There is only one place for a MK, MGR, Anna, Periyar to show up. All the rest of you will dance to this tune while the so called dalit favouring parties promote their dynasty. Stalin has a job waiting for him. For all the hard work done by Vaiko, MK still prefers Stalin. So where do you stand? Learn to uplift yourself on your own. Don't wait for a freebie from the goverment, cause that ain't coming. Once you learn that, then you will go places. Until then you will always be a slave to ideology.

C ya....

He he.. they follow a "rationalist leader" who found rationalism by marrying a 28 yr old girl at the age of 70 .. good eh!! Ramamurthy ur analysis is great - but just that it needs some stuff inside the head to understand - people who dont have that, cant make sense out of it!! The world is always dark ...if I dont open my eyes :)

RE:Kick out Brahmins from India
by Bhishma on Mar 31, 2007 10:27 PM
Most Dalits who take the benefit of reservation in jobs and education are the ones who are not 'oppressed', from any angle. The real 'oppressed' haven't really benefitted from the reservation system. Statistics show how a family that already utilized the reservation (creamy layer) are often the ones who benefit from it again - rather then leave the benefit to the needy ones. So that makes fellow Dalits even more oppressive in nature than 'Brahmins' - who BTW are one of the poorest in most states.

If there was indeed an oppression by 'Brahmins' as believed by the EVR slaves in acordance with the teachings of their white masters, Jinnahs and Commies comarades, then that happened more out of merit as opposed to the brutal self-defeatist oppression of 'Brahmins' that happeneing today in the name of reservation!

C'mon ... revering a self hating character like EVR tells more about Tamilian psyche than about EVR himself.

Gajanan Mohite
Father Periyar
by Gajanan Mohite on Mar 31, 2007 11:50 AM

Father Periyar , sounds like a topic for WD who wrote the Last Mughal and revealed with honesty how the missionaries with the British thwarted the Mutiny in 1857. The honourable Father Periyar , decades ago urged his followers some ruling in TN now to break idols and garland idols with chappals. Now his followers , attended SaiBaba opening the Telugu Ganga Project. Saibaba financed the project. Then they fell head over heels to Ammachi , who constructed houses for the Tsunami hit. Probably, this new niravana is due to the realisation that the gods and goddesses have descended into the web and they will have to buy the entire supply of nations chappals to re-enact their infamous act to garland the infinite web sites on individual computers, OR is it rank opportunism to share the dias of development with these modern saints. It would be nice to see someone take a movie on this aspect and expose the hollowness of this honourable Father Periyarites.

Al the Periyar talk
by on Mar 31, 2007 11:07 AM

It is no point debating with a bunch of morons who will accept any crap dished out by modern day politicians. The point is stop this Brahmin vs non-Brahmin crap. By continuing to talk about we have succeeded in the dividing amongst us. Nobody's perfect. Two wrongs don't make a right. It is more important to stay focused and improve one's life. Collectively, we will all be better of then. When economy and quality of life becomes the focus of your existence, then the winners are people like you and me, not the politicians who thrive in following British policy of divide and rule. The Brits may have left India 60 yrs back, but we haven't got independence from the the 19th century British mindset.

To quote John Lennon: "Imagine all the people, living life in Peace"
