Jhoom clashing with Sivaji !!!
by abc_xyz abc_xyz on Jun 21, 2007 11:55 AM

it seems, the Nizam and Mysore distributors of JBJ wanted Yaash raj to postpone the release of the movie by at least 2 weeks, once sivaji release dates were announced.
But yash Raj was adamant in releasing it on the same day as sivaji and now he is regreting for the wrong move.

Well, JBJ boombing in North and Overseas is because of bad script, but in south its a WASHOUT!!! some theatres screening JBJ in Bangalore, Hyderabad and Chennai, have declined to report the collection figures and trade estimated it to be as los as 30% !!!!!

I watched Sivaji
by Vinit Sankhe on Jun 20, 2007 05:21 PM  | Hide replies

I am a bollywood fan. But yesterday I watched sivaji in London. Sivaji had technique, action sequences, special effetcs, camera work and sets that will overshadow Devdas. In terms of technique and style Tamil film industry competes hollywood for sure!

But as far as storyline goes, it is no-where found in sivaji. Also I find its very melodramatic and flashy compared to subtle bollwyood films.

But for watching Sivaji, u dont need any knowledge of the tamil langauge. It is a spectacle that HAS to be seen in theatres and not on TV or DVD.

After Roja, Anjali & Kandukondein Kandukondein, Sivaji can be the fourth tamil film I could watch without subtitles.

BTW Jhoom... sucks big time!!!

hi vinit sankhe,

what you say is pretty much right.
But with rajnikanth at the helm, one can't excute a neat and logical story.

In fact the biggest selling point of the film apart from the ertwhile RAJNI is director SHANKAR, and this incredible combination is the reason behind earth-shattering box office reports that we hear across the globe.

We should appreciate SHANKAR for handling the story in such a way to project RAJNI's image and not get carried away at the same time.

I just can't believe any other director at his place, who could get such a techno-suave product for us.

regards,
One among the million RAJNI fans around.

I wish Rajni & AB are together in flims
by Peter Lazar on Jun 20, 2007 05:17 PM  | Hide replies

I wish Rajni & AB are together in flims , he movie would be the biggest Hit of all time..... the best thing I like about them is they have respect for each other & have stood by each other at bad times. These two legends are not like the gen x actors (SRK/Salma) etc who have no respect for senior actors..

You said, sivaji will not even come in top 50 films in uk and usa and jhoom barabar jhoom willl be in top 10. Where is your report??? Your calculations went wrong badly.. Sivaji is in Top 5 and going up day by day.. Your jhoom barabar jhoom is a disaster at box office
