Comparing Apples with Apples
by Truth Be Told on Jun 20, 2007 07:02 AM  | Hide replies

Where's the comparison between Rajnikanth in Sivaji & Srivastava Sr. (aka Amitabh B.) in JBJ? Rajnikanth is the star and the most prominent actor in Sivaji whereas Srivastava Sr. plays a bit role as a dunce beggar dressed in the most outlandish costume in JBJ. Sivaji revolves around Rajnikanth. JBJ was supposed to evolve around Srivastava Jr. (aka Abhishek B.) but this pansy-faced progeny of Srivastava Sr., the rich 'farmer' in his efforts to appear manly not only had his straggly beard but even his acting abilities all over the place in JBJ. He ends up, as a result, either hamming or grossly overacting to prove his macho credentials which Srivastava Sr. must have advised him, is the keystone for present & future career success. Hence after playing 'The Goru' (Go-mata; The Cow) in Guru he ends up knocking the stuffing out of Micky, er Vicky, the character he plays in the film.
What of Srivastava Sr.? As if sporting a shiny black wig together with a snow-white dyed goatee in movie after movie isn't outlandish enough, he ends up sporting a bizarre assortment of clothes which a circus clown can give serious consideration to, here. At this rate the Srivastavas certainly have a future as the comic relief act of Bollywood provided they stop playing 'Amitabh Bachchan' in movie after movie or playing the 'Goru' .

Thats 'coz Abhishek is probably the most overrated actor of our times. Imagine an actor who gives 15 flops and still gets movies to do. Any other person apart from the illustrious progeny of Mr.Bachchan would have moved to Ekta Kapoor serials by now or headed home. Ultimately its all about the surname! I can't understand how you can bandy him around as a "poor" kid ! Ricky thukral is the most insufferable portrayal of a Bhatinda dude in recent times and to make it worse the act is so put on that you are left wondering whether Mr.Bachchan's ever had a genetic impact on Abhishek's acting! The Amitabh Bachchan of today reminds one of Dhritarashtra from the Mahabharata and of his blind devotion to his son.

Hello guys at rediff.. Why don't you guys think of opening some kind of FIGHT CLUBS so that we can see the real fight live on internet TV... In this post or any other post, people who are saying all the good things and bad things about any famous personality.. they'll change their opinion as soon as they are flopped. And the way they put their opinions, it seems as if they want to fight with each other... Think of creating RFC (Rediff fight club - MEMEBERS ONLY).

One more thing... Coming Soon!!

I DNT UNDERSTAND HOW THESE GUYS THOUGHT SIVAJI WAS IN RACE WITH JBJ(CRAP).WE NEVER THOUGHT BOTH OF THESE FILMS WERE IN COMPETITION.

IN SOUTH ALL THE PRODUCERS WAITED FOR THE RELEASE OF SIVAJI SO THEY CAN THINK ABT THEIR OWN RELEASES.IT WUD HAVE BEEN A DISASTER FOR THEM IF THEY HAD RELEASED THEIR MOVIES AT THIS POINT OF TIME.

SIVAJI WUD HAVE STEAMROLLED ALL THE RELEASES IN THE SOUTH TAKEN TOGETHER.

well said suyog.it is high time that yashraj did away with their mushy storylines and their staple line--up of actors-shah rukh, abhishek, amitabh, preirty, rani, saif and even uday chopra. they would do well with refreshing storylines and great and fresh actors like shahid, vidya balan, kareena, priyanka, siddharth etc.i am sure their coebackvehicle for madhuri will also suck big time, bringing poor kunal kapoor's career to a standstill
