Disappointment in terms of story and screen play yet sivaji is gona be a great hit jus coz of rajini..As he ROCKS always... There are no cacthy punch dialogs . Backgorud score is not that good comparing to the earlier release for rajini's..... Shankar has done a worst job in terms of story line and characterization.. This story doesnt carry a value .. Climax could have been a little meaningful...
When Big people(shankar , rajini, AR) join together we exepcted a better outcome but rajini has only done his job better others have actualy screwed up the movie. ARR can concentrate only on engilsh and hindi.. I think we dont need him any more .. I has copied tunes from kanada songs and all.. Orukudai sunlight starts of well but he could complete it better which shows his immaturity in this own feild. I Could not even think one better thing apart from rajini in the movie .. As a Hardcore rajini fan I was as disappointed as much when I was when India was defeated by bangladesh in the last worldcup..

Bang... the gangster dies...This was too much for our Newton to take! He was completely shaken and decided to go back. But he happened to see another movie for one last time, and thought that at least one movie would follow his theory of physics. The whole movie goes fine and Newton is happy that all in the world hasn't changed. Oops, not so fast!
The 'climax' finally arrives. Rajnikanth gets to know that the villain is on the other side of a very high wall. So high that Rajnikanth can't jump even if he tries like one of those superman techniques that our heroes normally use. Rajnikanth has to desperately kill the villain because it's the climax.
(Newton is smiling since it is virtually impossible?)
Rajnikanth suddenly pulls two guns from his pockets. He throws one gun in the air and when the gun has reached above the height of the wall, he uses the second gun and shoots at the trigger of the first gun in air. The first gun fires off and the villain is dead.

Kutha jitna bhee bauk le, na sooraj ki roshni badalti - na uska raasta. Bas yeh ek hi sentence bas hai Rajni ke bare me bolne ke liye. Agar aap log yeh TV walo ke shabdh me vishwas na rakte to bahut acha rahta - it wud hv saved u time and me some comedy reading your post. For folks who don't understand Hindi - Dogs bark, but that doesn't affect the sun shine nor the Sun's movement. Rajni is the SUN (Ore oru baasha thaan ulagukellam - Batcha). Had these unfortunate folks not put too much weight to the words of new items, they'd've been spared their misery and I would've been spared of this comedy. God bless all you unfortunate folks - you should better stick to your BRAINs rather than going by new channels. All the best !!

Sivaji, the movie is out, and its a SUPER HIT kick ass movie. I live in US, and its full house, sold out every show here too.
Rajni answered the critics thru the success of the movie.
Whatever the northies are telling now, its just out of pure jealousness that their Jhoom barabar movie sucked big time and could not stand against Sivaji's grandness.
All, I saw Sivaji in St.Louis yesterday. There were 4 shows and all 4 ran house-full. We were in the last show and since it was sold out, there were peole ready to even sit on the stairs and watch.
Now for the review. The movie is engrossing. Considering the length of the movie it was a great show & should be lauded that never was the movie lagging & kept up the tempo pretty much through. The team has come up with pretty good way to present the wafer thin story.
points - Racy pace, Great Dialogues, very good acting by everyone ( whoever had scope for acting - pretty much Rajini and Vivek. thats it)..Very Rich and astonishing sets and cinematography & of course Rajini...
-ve points - Lack of serious story, Couple of songs were little distracting, Rajini's age showing..
Overall it was like a festival.. the whole environment was electrifying making the experience wonderful..
I am a Rajini fan..But I was totally disappointed with the mediocre story and amateurish treatment. And, for the hype they created for this movie, it falls so short. Why would a 60-year old man keep acting as a 30-year old man - not to mention the silly love scenes he is engaging himself in. It was so uncomfotable to watch him. Does a guy who tries so hard to become fair-skinned seem like a guy who cleverly eradicates black money? "Cool" is what Rajini repeats so often - no so cool. "Give me a break yah"..
So much money has been wasted on the songs - just in that money, tamil cinema industry could have produced few very good low-budget ones.
I totally lost my respect for Shankar. What was he thinking ?? This is the worst of his creations. It might do OK at the box office - but the impact it will create on the audience is less than 1/10th of what Chandramukhi caused. Rajini should have learnt a lesson from Chandramukhi. Just his screen presence is not going to mint money at the box office. And he is not young to make a pakka masala movie with dance and fight sequences. He needs to select good storylines with him playing a character that almost suits his age.

Sivaji can be rated as an average movie. Shankar has failed to work this script out. In the recent times, Stalin had a better script and message for the mass.

I Completely agree with you.The movie did not meet the hype it created and i was completely disappointed for the movie.Waste of money for sets, lenghthy seens in the first half and i was totally disappointed by the way shankar handled the movie.I went to the movie from expectations from shankar and he had failed in meeting the expectations.But there was no comments from rajini's action.It was superb,that's way he became superstar in India.But overall the movie was pretty much AVERAGE movie.

Actually Sivaji may disappoint as a Shankar movie....but it is a wholesome entertainer when u watch it as a Rajini movie(my opinion). But,it's high time Shankar grows over his same old Robinhood style plots and stop wasting money on crores of money on 5 minute songs. ---------------------------- In the 1st half, Rajini says "This educational inst. is my 20 years dream and I've invested my 25 years of earnings in it". Assuming he became a SW engineer at the age of 20, he must be 45 years old in the present. I thought it was reasonable of him to act as a 45 years old and he convincingly looked like one :) Just a thought! Rajini may still be doing love scenes but he is 1000 times better to watch than Amitabh in "Cheeni Kum" where 64 years old Amitabh romances around Tabu & trying to prove his virility....gosh!
some northie in one of his post was challenging and he wants to prove that the box office collection of JBJ will exceed sivaji. where are you pig? JBJ is a shit movie and your own northies are spitting on this movie. it will run out of theatres in one week. sivaji will run for atleast a year. Don't just comment anything about rajini's movie without knowing anything. grow up man!

One of the best movies of Rajni so far.... Thala - has proved again that he is not only a mass hero but one of the best actors in the world. Rajni has done a great job in this movie be it comedy, dance, action ( a few scenes are kinda exaggerating , but it doesnt matter. Thala is Thala ;) ), dialogue delivery, and ofcourse... style! Too many different costumes/looks in this movie, and thala looks amazing! Vivek- Vivek is too funny in this one. A gr8 comeback after being dominated by vadivelu in the industry for a while. He and Rajni are a kick ass duo. Shreya - wow.. this babe is reallly hot in this movie! Music - Gr8 music by Rahman! All videos rock! Dir/pic/script - Good work by Shankar! Well made script. Amazing locations and picturizations. Except for a couple of scenes here and there (which is expected in a Rajni or Sankar Movie) the movie is awesome. Shankar has always tried to throw in a message related to poverty/corruption. Hope the people in India take his movies seriously. Having Rajni deliver a message this time was a great idea.

Shankar has a difficult choice to make - sacrifice the storyline or Rajni's mass appeal!
He has come out fabulously in creating a script without losing much of either.. Shivaji is a complete entertainer - a movie that you can watch with friends/family..
Shriya can never look so beautiful again even if she wanted to.. She is beauty personified in this movie.. the songs are amazingly picturized.. I can tell with no ego(coz I m frm TN) that we(Indian movies) hv never picturized songs in such way in our history.. sets are ravishing and so is shreya(just can't help commenting abt her).. Watch the athiradee song for Superstar's mega style..
Let me come to Thalaivar now.. This is one of the best roles he has done in years and he has given his best.. he rocks be it comedy, songs or fights.. but there is an overdose of fights(only -ve thing I can think of). Shankar could hv done away with them..maybe he needs to keep this in mind in future.. the way thalaivar tosses the 1 rupee coin is just awesome..
Rehaman - done a gr8 job in Athiradee song.. should hv concentrated more on the background score though..
Vivek - He is simply hilairous.. this movie is definitely his best so far.. I loved the way he delivered the punch dialogues for Rajni (He says right! its de

in a nutshell - 'The Boss' is a great entertainer.. the last 1hr of the movie moves at an amazing pace.. Mottai Boss (nobody other than Superstar can do it)..

Watch the movie for harmless fun and to hv a gr8 time with ur friends ( I would advise to go watch this movies with friends instead with family)

SIVAJI is a well packed family entertainer that lifts up our SUPERSTAR RAJINIKANTH'S PERFORMANCE AND STYLES. One should ignore the story line and should never debate on that. Don't debate whether it is feasible to totally eliminate black money by a single man. This is just a cinema. Ignoring the story line, this movie is fabulously scripted, screen played, directed, choreographed ,stunts, songs and their sets. First half is Vivek comedy songs Rajini and Second half is FULL LENGTH RAJINI songs. Few noteworthy points. 1. Nayanthara slimness in Ballelaka song. 2. Comedy scenes - Chitoor thandina katpadi punch, Pazhaga pazhaga sequence, election officer sequence, Trying to become white sequence, etc.. 3. Vaaji vaaji & Sahana song sets. WOW MIND BOGGLING. Kudos to Art director 4. Style & Athiradi song - Is it our super star or some other young hero. Enna dance'uu... Shankar & dance masters thalaivarai rombe velai vangi..irukanga...thalaivar kalakittaru... 5. Rajini scenes - Bajji scene, Suicide scene, stunt scenes, chewing gum & tossing the coin,last but not the least -- OUR MOTTAI BOSS.
Only our Super Star can do the MOTTAI BOSS. To be honest, i was very much impressed in the first half and felt that 2nd half is bit dragging.. After i left the theatre, all the songs, comedy scenes and our thalaivar was in front of my eyes..Suddenly something pulled me and watched the movie again. It is our SS. Lots of kisses to SS.
