i think you are misunderstood. Infact it is amazing that whose mother tongue is different can achieve such a big goal. And why not to be proud, as he is Maharashtriain. This is normal Mr.Thomas. Why not? Shankar's earlier film "Jeans" was India's official entry for Oscars becoz of its technical brilliance. There are lot of noval technical elements (f)used in this movie too. May be it may go as India's entry again? Who knows? Its not just becoz of Rajinikant, I am talking.

I am a great fan of Rajnikant. Infact, I like his style of holding cigratte and holding gogles. He is simply great and down to earth. One must understand that he is god's special envoy, otherwise such massive rise in life from a conductor to a superstar whose first day first show film tickets are bought at a price of as high as 5,000/- by his fans. For his fans, he is Brahma, Vishnu and Mahesh combined. I don't know what god he worships. Tamils like people respect their culture and language. He should never come to politics.

Hey Rajinder...I am south indian and lived all my life in north india....I know lots of guys like you who enjoy a good, and watch movies for pure entertainment...rajini movies are pure entertainment.....his movies have certian formula which one watches leaving logic at home, like we do with James bond, superman, spiderman movies....and rajni ensures, his movies have a decent production values and can be watched by everyone in the family.....It is actually open heartness of Tamil Nadu that they love a non tamilian so much...and tamilian are abused of being chauvinistics

Big B, SRK, Hrithik & other bollywood gang try to evade Income Tax. Thats why we often read in the News that IT raided AB's house. Most of the bollywood stars also dance for Marriages and functions of Rich people and terrorists like Dawood. Unless they do all these crap things, they wont get satisfied with their money. North Indians dont understand all this even you show them with proofs. Becoz they are too film fanatics like Southies.

Man you need simple heart and sheer emotional maturity to understand and appreciate the talent and diversity. Otherwise you would sulk,suck and pout at people, that is the fastest way to invite heart-attack very soon in your life. Man i am sorry for your parents and your spouse.
This rediff is Tamil biased web-site and most of the articles they put are biased by typical Tamilian mentality. They don't have any respect to other languages and culture. They should ban this site for ever.

Please do not hate Tamil. Love your language instead. Languages is just a means of communication. By being creative with yourlanguage your culture, your passion and even your wealth grows. There are so many profesions in life. Making movies is one of them and making good movies propogates the language and it culture. But you will have to invest in it, you will have to take RISK. Today, Tamil movies closly follow the Hindi movies in popularity and money power. It is because of the passion to be creative and the love for the language. You can not blame somebody for the love for their Mother Tongue. In fact there was a time Chennai started the trend of hating Hindi becasue they thought it will kill Tamil and also the local were not comfortable. Somewhere down the line, it became very clear HATING a language is not as pasionate as LOVING a language. So now you know what you have to do.
