Water is definitely not going to win oscar.Thats a guaranty.Water winning oscar is like india winning soccer world cup.Distant dream and it's a reality. This whole gaga over competition is media creation.Till the day the oscars are announced our electronic, print and cyber media and even fm stations are going to bore us non stop just like shilpa , abhishek-aishwarya saga left, right and center.A film which was never released how can it win oscar which is a distant dream. Our indian film makers should stop presenting india in a bad light and if possible stop making these regressive films which in no way are exciting

It was released in North America and the UK and I would like to tell you, that even my friends who are not Indians were moved by the plight of the women. Hats off to Deepa Mehta for making such a great movie

Hey... I agree with ur other boring useless sagas of Ash-abhi etc... but why r u not accepting this film. If u look at other nominations under this category most of them are regressive movies showing something in a bad light. Grow up and try to appreciate such movies which are once a reality.

water is there in oscars thats more like winning a battle already. so stop makin a fun of urself by writing these kinda comments.... and accept the realities of india , in past in present and for future
showing the darker side of our society to win appreciation from the west is the current trend . The intention should be to help the ones who are oppressed not make films to get awards

You definetly should not be seeing movies like that. You should sit and watch your home marriage videos and how your choked on your moustache instead of coming online and passing judgements on things you have no clue about..youve neither the wisdom nor the experience that great directors envision.

Yet another spokesperson, boss take it easy. You would be old enough to understand that one must not reflecting such strong passionate feelings for the director . I am expressing my opinion you dont agree thats your problem
DON'T U all think that SHE paved way for such a multiple discussion by just making a movie... doesnt that lead each one of us to think so strong about our belief and what is wrong. WHY do we expect the same person to made the movie to change the world too.;.... CANT we say after looking at all the views .... we should get together for the for the benefit of OUR people....
What a slap on our faces. We Indians fully deserve this. I hope %u201Cwater%u201D win%u2019s and Canada gets all the due credit it deserves, for supporting this film.
The thoughts of social reforms and the philosophy truth is very well weaven in the story of this movie, and that is the TRUE HINDUISM. It seems sad when people call this movie as an anti hindu because they want to define Hinduism on the line of Fundamentalist Muslimism. Kudos to Deepa maheta for making a good movie. Its far better than any other hindi movie to be reached here.
It is very unfortunate that the film water selected in the Oscar award nomination. It is anti-Hindu film which was shooted at Srilanka and other countries secretly. Selection of the film in the Oscar is the Anti Nationalists conspiracy. message by T.YADAGIRIRAO, HYD,India

Dear Rajesh,Every society/religion has flaws.Christians have practiced so much violence in past and crimes like,Child rape,Sodomy within Church and mostly by priests,Muslims burned hindus alive, coverted them forcefully and rapes their women not so long ago in india. But Have you ever seen any movie based on these lines going to oscar!! And you beleive that the incident shown in the movie was universal in Banaras then please do some research.Stray incidents like these happen!and finally wrong practices are abolished!!Is it going to help Hindus, showing what had happenned in 1940s!!Or this is just an artistic mind of Deepa Mehata!!Think deeply...it is just a trick for shortcut successes in west. She has fogotten India and her homeland. She will never come back to India and devot herself to hindu or local issues!!

Please mr Vinay, stop using words like "think deeply" for fate doesnt provide you with that fortitude. Your idea of a woman is not more than child bearing machines dedicated to washing your fungus filled toes from which you think, along with nodding their heads to every fart from your mouth. Shortcuts for success? Do you know what its like to produce a movie of that level in the west? You religious bigots with no brains and no clue to reality make me sick....
