This site truly biased with no credibility left. How come the reviewer or the REDIFF.COM can easily change the RATING from 1.5 stars to 2 stars.
im very much sure 1.5/5 is given on January 15, 2007 17:42 IST by Shwetha Bhaskar !! and now i see the rating changed to 2/5 without any information given on top of the news !!!!!!!
truly iresponsible site . REDIFF.COM should at least put a note in top of the link when they update the CONTENT or rating !!!!

There seem to be many angry people saying that the reviewer does not know how to assess expectations of Tamil people....does that mean that Tamilians are crude idiots?! Are Tamil audiences the special kind 'whose sentiments are not taken into consideration by this review' who will embrace and weak storylines, crass and vulgar jokes about urine and songs which are not creative OR melodious but loud and raucous, pathetic scripts with only sick depictions of women and mindless violence where hundreds are killed (please tell me WHICH police officer can be allowed to run wild, doing as he please, killing whoever he encounters?! This makes Vijay's character the biggest criminal of all!!!) Should one expect all Tamil viewers to embrace such drivel!? The director is merely taking everyone for a ride and cheating the public: we the intelligent thinking Tamil viewers cannot allow film makers to lazily make no effort to be creative but just piece together all masala elements possible like loud song and dance and vulgarity "BECAUSE THAT IS WHAT THE TAMIL AUDIENCE LOVES"!!!!!

I started watching pokiri having in mind that POKIRI is a bad movie, (After reading the review) The movie is not worst as mentioned in REDIFF. Atleast from now on, REDIFF should stop Reviweing the TAMIL movies. What an idiotic review. Producers are putting hell a lot of money in making movies with big stars, REDIFF should not blast a movie like this, the thing is movie is watchable only. Ppl like me sincerely believes REVIWES and RATINGS. But giving 1.5 point rating value is very very BAD. REDIFF must reconsider its desicion to give ratings to TAMIL movies.
i have ever seen such a worst review in my life. The film was superb mainly vijay acting, songs & dance are fantastic. i have seen all the pongal films, this is mega hit film...
people here voicing their anger are none but hard core Vijay fans. they basically don't know the meaning of a "good" movie. Just because their "Thailavar" has acted in it, they wanted the movie to be rated 5 *..haha..what a joke? most of the movies involving these so called super stars are just the same masala entertainers and just for fun. nothing meaningful in them. even these fans will accept this in their heart however they won't do that in public as they are wearing a mask called - the die hard fan of "So & so". So, rediff, don't be partial in giving reviews even if its just 1.5 *. Be proud that you are not one among those movie based web sites which praise every movie as a "great" movie. Who knows their reviews are sponsored by the producers/actors of those movies for cheap publicity.

Let people know your agenda. You're an Ajith fan in the guise of a neutral fan and you're supporting Rediff against Pokkiri. We all saw what was the pitiable result of Aalwar! Unanimous disaster!
looks like u've been cornered.. a overwhelming majority of the viewers have blasted you for writing suc a bad review on pongal's superhit pokkiri.
i concur with most of those fans. i have not seen pokkiri (tamil) yet but seeing ur review, i can clearly understand that you do not know what the tamil fans expect from a movie. this is not your personal webpage to write a review on what you think. this being an internationally acclaimed site, you should write a review on what everyone should expect from the movie, with your own opinion sprinkled in between. seems like u've completely messed up here!
Pokkiri is a super-hit and is heading for a winner among pongal releases!
