well fyi..Kaliyattom was an adaptation of William Shakesphere's Othello..theres nothing wrong in making a novel into a film..and the treatment of both the movies were completely different..Saif was excellent in his potrayal..which is why he deserves the award !!

Ms.Rosamma, its everyone's personal wish to care for a particular actor or who ever it may be, but my question is do we have to fight for such a small issue when hundreds of people are dead in the train blast that held today.
My humble request is to just pray for the families of those who lost their relatives in the blast. Hope u will do that.

malayalam movies beyond the small border of kerala mean one of two things-- either show only in festicals in non malayalam speaking countries with subtitles OR if India, they are synonymous with C grade adult stuff.

I am malayalee mr renjith.I liked the old malayalam films.The art films of mammotty were very good like Vidayan and ponthan mada and mammotty won awards for these films.Name me one commercially successful film that won mammotty or mohanlal an award.I agree humtum was an average movie but saif's performance in omkara was superb.Saif is the only actor that fully becomes part of the character he is playing.There is not even 1% of overacting in his performances unlike say Sharukh or Hirthick or even AAmri khan.Mamooty cannot do commercial films.And mr suppandi is right most malayalm movies are c grade adult films

saif is the only actor to have really grown over the years.These are only the list of movies where his perfromances have been applauded.He has done countless more.Remember he is only 36 years of age.Name me 10 films of Mohanlal and Mammotty in the same class.They might have done hundreds of movies between them but hardly any of consequence

obviously your knowledge of movies is limited. the point is not that malayalam movies are not original. the point is that there are two categories of malayalam movies-- art movies for film festivals which are broadcast on DD1 on sundays at 1pm with subtitles; then the next category which most movies fall in C grade adult stuff. in fact the name for such movies irrespective of the language in other states is malayalam movies. This does not take away the fact that some Malayalam directors deserve Oscars

suresh gopi is not in the same league of Saif.infact suresh gopi is among the second rate actors of the malayalam film industry.Saif is truly the best actor india ever produced.He's completely original and has plenty of versatility.He's much better than mammotty(who can do only arty roles) saif can do both, he's even better than mohan lal(who only does commercial movies).SAIF IS THE BEST ACTOR IN THE WORLD.SO what if omkara is a remake.Its still better than the shitty mallu version

the above news was about a well known actor in India being hospitalised. whether he is the best or not, he has done quite a number of movies and the box office is the proof for his ability. there is no point in comparing Saif with actors from regional movie industries. i believe Rajanikanth is the highest paid actor in India. does it make him the best actor in India? even when there is disagreement, let us not abuse each other. those who are interested can wish Saif a speedy recovery, others can just ignore this news. our president is from south and our prime minister is from north and we all are indians. Hi Guys, Those who discuss these topics and topics that are being posted in the recent past are totally shying away from the core. Saif is definitely a good actor. But not the best. Mohanlal and Mamooty are not just regional actors (those who know what is acting and Indian cinema will understand this) but have got tremendous acting talents and if you really love cineam in-depth, than you must appreciate these too and not compare with Saif, since his not as matured as these two. Hey, am not malayalee or north indian, but purely want to be an Indian. Now the core issue is that this guy is hospitalised, and lets all pray for his recovery. And also have the habit of not being too violent and racist between regions and calling people by their language. Its a SHAME and people dont deserve to be Indian if they are like that. Cheers

Check other pages on Rediff.com and you will find about a train blast which killed scores of innocent people. Condemn the act and sympathise with the families who lost their loved ones.
