whats the big deal?
by lax on Apr 16, 2007 10:56 PM  | Hide replies

hey guys.. grow up..
nothing wrong in 2 adults kissing decently on cheeks for a noble purpose (aids awareness).

If u go to bandstand in mumbai, u will find 100's of couples kissing (lips-to-lips), touching etc in broad daylight. Its so cheap..
why dont ppl protest agst that??
There are thousands of other examples where nobody even notices, for eg:
1.) Casting Couches in Bollywood where 'old' directors/producers have s*x with girls as young as 15-20yrs old, giving them false hopes/promises,
2.) Rapes happening almost every other day esp by sons of rich ppl/politicians (esp in delhi),
3.) All the s*x scandals (kashmir s*x scandal/ Jalgaon etc etc),
4.) Girls being lured into prostitution,
5.) Little girls being raped & murdered, and the list goes on & on,

Obviously, all the above are much more heinous then Gere kissing shetty.

The reason the above examples are brushed under the carpet is that, the politicians/police are involved in that. They want a constant supply of prostitutes/young girls to satisfy their carnal desires. Whereas in Gere-shetty case they get political mileage.... simple.

Even if Gere f*cks shetty... who cares... afterall both are consenting adults.

And in this case, Richard Gere was trying to make a point that AIDS does not spread thru kissing/touching. So the intentions were good.

Besides, he is not from our culture.. and these ppl

u know what u need to get off of this topic. u dont make sense. u have no right to decide what they should do in their private life. if they what to be together it is their decision and none of our business. the only thing i know is it was for good reason and we should not take it in wrong way

Lax,
I fully agree with what you said..just one confusion in this line..
"And in this case, Richard Gere was trying to make a point that AIDS does not spread thru kissing/touching"
Does it mean Gere has AIDS and after this scene he wanted to prove that Shilpa won't be infected!!

u r right and i agree with u completely. we should be concentrating on these issues that u listed and more rater then fighting over something that is not even as bad as everyone is making it.

Woww
by drax on Apr 16, 2007 10:15 PM  | Hide replies

I was also wondering what the heck this much of hue and cry for this simple kiss on the cheek.
But then I saw the actual kiss on TV, Gere bends her on her back almost horizontal to the floor, then hugs her tightly and passionately and profusely kisses her all round her cheeks not once but several times. Woww that was some simple kiss on the cheek. And from the expression of Gere u could see the lust in that action quite clearly.
If only Shilpa doesnt mind such kisses from everyone woww what a service she would be doing for Indian males. ;)

the only reason shilpa will tell you what she does behind closed doors will be to further her career - she's only fooling with guys who can promote her and further her career - the guys themselves will not come in the public & admit it because this will jeopardise their own careers.

I think you are right - if they are going to do some burning it should be in such a manner that some people can do their cooking on the fire - this would serve a dual purpose - or they should burn the effiges in winter so that some of the public can get warmed up at the same time.Good thinking Apeksha.

People's Problem

The Problem of people is way Gere took her kiss, he first took her on right shoulder and then kissed which looked very romantic. and this openly romance is unacceptable for people of this country.

every been to khajuraho ...
thats indian tradiiton too ...

Most indian men are basically perverted ..they prefer to molest children and teenage girls ..
and ofcourse they wont do this openly..

Out in the open they will burn effigies and preach faux morality to the rest of the population...
