plz start sending a film for its credentials rather than for its star cast or for its popularity at box office. sometimes i wonder how can such lousy & bad films do well at box office n genuine films bomb. i feel very bad at those instances. the last entries like devdas n paheli r bad films n dont deserve to be sent.
KANK, KRRISH dont even deserve to be mentioned for oscars leave about considering.
OMKARA and lage raho are good but my pick is definitely RANG DE BASANTI. for the simple reason that it has the finest cast who r not stars but wonderful actors potraying just their role n nothing more, becoz AFTER A LONG LONG TIME I FELT PROUD TO BE AN INDIAN, becoz it tries to envoke a sought of responsibilty, belongingness, faith, self-importance n oneness among the youth which is a noble & g8 effort, becoz it tries to awaken the lost n directionless public and hints that if they wish they can make a huge difference for the nation just as our freedom fighters did, lastly that life might not be fair to most of the people but we need to make the best of the wats in hand.
i can keep on telling..... it moved me so much.
now is the hightime to show the world wats best abt india.
it should be munnabhai. it deals with gandiji. the goras will be happy and will learn something from his principles. all votes for munnabhai.........lage raho
Who says KANK is rocking overseas. It's collections fell by a huge 70 percent from second week onwards. High ticket prices and large number of prints in the first week saved the day for KANK and hence there were huge collections. As for script for oscar library you should know that the criteria for selection is that a movie should be released in California. So whichever hindi movie have released in California has been selected by the Oscar Library.
Films like KANK have been made several times in Hollywood. More bolder themes have been explored in Hollywood. So there is no chance that Hollywood would go for this trash KANK.
the contenders are clear - Omkara, RDB and Lage Raho.
But who knows if Karan pays huge amounts to the jury then we might see KANK being selected. After all if Karan can pay huge amount to film reviewers TV channels for eulogising his trash movie he can pay anyone. After all if we can send a movie like JEANS and PAHELI then there are chances that KANK will be selected. And that would be a horrible decision.
My vote for Munnabhai as it has the strong message which the world talking all the time now a days.. which is 'We need Peace no war'... What can be better message then the Great Bappu's "AHIMSA"..
Don't spoil india's reputation by sending film like KANK as official entry.
Karan Johar and Team might have seen many extra marital affairs in their so called page3 community but India is not just Page 3...
Just because the big stars who we love are there in the film, we can't accept such a Idiotic Story.
What will the big stars do ...after all Karan Johar has lots of money in his bank.
Are you people NUTSssssssssssss? Krish and KANK are the worst movies of the year. AND How can you send a movie like Lage Raho Munna Bhai to OSCARS? Comeon guys... whats wrong with you all? How could the ghoras understand the Tapori Language of Munna Bhai? Yes the Movie is good in its own way, but I'm sorry to say that it is not worth sending to Oscars. I feel you should try to send Rang De Basanti to Oscars. But a kind request.... please cut all the songs from the movie, so that it looks like real movie and not stupid, where everybody sings. We don't run around singing in real Life? Do we? YES SEND RANG DE BASANTI to Oscars !!!! (but please chop off all the songs)
If we really need to send, then these would me my choices..
1.rang de basanti. 2.lage Raho munna bhai... 3. Omkara..to some extent . . .. . . . please leave KANK with karan johar and SRK to ponder over and create a hype with the media..
