i think its time to start a revoltion rather than wasting time in peace. Now a days peace is being used as a weapon against those who uses it.once it was a powerful missile, but now many have found a counter missile for that.At present what we need is rightly said in the move rang de basanthi. Also its known that youngsters are the future of india and the world. teaching them to be patriotic is good than teaching them sathya which the hot bloods wont understant may be they do after 20 yrs. so my nominee for oscar is rang de basanthi.!!!!!!!
I dont know why we are even discussing this.. RDB is a no brainer... We shouldnt waste time and everyone should just rally around RDB. Anyway .. I dont think lobbying is going to make any difference. RDB is going to win anyway!! Lagaan needed some lobbying.. RDB doesnt any..
My only problem is why RDB is being nominated for the best foreign film.. some clever english script writing and dubbing should catapult it into best film in the mainstream... 2007 is some time away.. Do it Guys!! Let everyone in the world get to see it.. do it for commerical reasons and as filmmakers.. its worth it... RDB started with idea to do it in English and Hindi... Now it is ripe to be done in English.. I am not talking subtitiles.
RDB is the true meritocaracy pick. The cream always rises to the top. RDB is our FIlm industry's meritocracy poster child. There is enough meritocracy in life beleive it or not (athough not enough) and RDB's selection as India's entry to Oscar's highlights meritocracy in India such as exists in getting into IIM, IAS, AIIMS, IIT. RDB is just the same kind of thing except this time it is show biz. So just get out of the way its a no brainer . and RDB will win no doubt!
I guess RBD should be sent for Oscar this year. Its very relavent and contemporary. There is no doubt Lage Rahe...is also equally gud...but out of the two I would go for RDB coz of excellent direction, acting, awesome music, n screenplay.
I dont understand all the fuss... its a no brainer RDB is the only one we all should just rally around and back to the hilt.. Why waste time even discussing if others shd be in the frey. All though Lage raho, omkara etc are good movies too and I respect those film makers, producers and their movies.. But RDB is the pure meritocracy pick.. its a no brainer.
The only thing we should have put our energies acting on why the heck should it be in the running in Foreign Film Category ... it should be nominated for the Best Film in the mainstream .. surely we can hurry up and do the necessary script writing in English and dub if need be.. ofcourse this needs time.. get everyone involved. naseer, etc. put our best minds together and get this RDB puppy into the mainstream category for best film... it deserves no less.. its not arrogrance on my part .. its just Meritocracy at its best and we have so much/so little of it in India, world and in life... Although there is so much corruption, influence, networking etc in success.. RDB's success is a poster child for the kind of meritocracy we see some in India.. IAS, IIM, AIIMS, IIT, etc. RDB is Our Film Indstry's Meritocary symbol.
i think rang de basantiis the right choice. lage raho munna bhai is a good and inspirational movie. but rang de is better then munna bhai. the choice is right.
In today's time where everyone is in hurry and remains in tension for some or the other reason, you desperately need such relaxing movies which not only cuases pain in stomach by laughing but also revives the moral values which we have forgot and nurtures the same in new generation. In my opinion, undoubtedly this movie should be the one for Oscars
There are so many regional language movies which have won National Award this year, I strongly suggest we send one of those movies to Oscars. Oscars don't care about KRRISHH (they have better movies than that), KANK.. this movie sucks and too melodramatic... In Foreign Language movie category, they look for high quality sensible movies.. so go with National Award winning movies.
