Recently Rang De Basanti was shown to a group of Australian school- children, and said to have been appreciated.African Americans have seen and identified with the film, especially the scene where Aslam confronts his hidebound Muslim zealot family.Despite a questionable and controversial ending, RDB is an entertaining and thought provoking film tht works at so many levels.Repeated viewings of the film make one understand its nuances.Omkara too is an excellent film with a universal theme of trust or the lack of it.But the UP hinterland setting and language, limit it to a certain extent.LRMB I have not seen yet,but heard enough about.I think it presents an idealistic though possibly impractical world.RDB has inspired people all over the world, especially in India[Jessica Lal case].RDB has its faults, yet it's plus points make them seem small. It's a tough task picking one out of these three gems, but keeping the Oscars and the Indian tradition of entertaining Katha in mind, and especially considering RDB's juxtaposing of past and present,I'd say send Rang De to the Oscars.
Absolutely RDB no doubt.....RDB deserves it. RDB Qualities: (original screenplay, story, rocking and fresh Music,Good dialogues, Terrific performance by all artistes who acted in this movie and one more thing is no hollywood locations at all in this movie so plz send RDB to Oscars i wish RDB team

are you mad.hindi film have a global appeal.don't forget the biggest stars in india i.e,amithab bachan, sharukh khan all are fom bollwood.your southindian films sucks a big time.
Why everyone is shouting for Hindi Movies when very few Hindi ones are coming out really good, with class and sense, which are away from the common mode of colours, songs and dances.
Why not we are selecting some Movies from other languages like Bengali or Malayalam, where lot of Movies with less colour, but real class and art are getting released. I would like to stress that when we think about the real art required for somewhere like the Oscars, most of the crowd pullers which most Hindi Movies are, will be lagging far behind.
How many times did in the history of Indian National Film Awards did an Hindi Movie came out as the best film? Just an example of their class, indeed !!!
Most definately OMKARA, see we are talking about a global audience, and RDB with its ending will not cut ice, OMKARA is the movie which has an international audience and should be sent as India's entry.
well, i did have a serious debate in my mind as to which was a better option-rang de or lage raho.and i finally zeroed in on rang de-it is the most appropriate entry for the oscars.well for one, it integrates our glorious past with the present and tries to highlight a very topical issue-corruption in high places. the indianness of the whole subject and the patriotic aspects ensure that this would perhaps best represent the indian ethos. the movie is also good technically and performance-wise. my vote is for rang de basanti
i think Omkara is the best choice for oscar.. Rang de.. is also good one.. but i agree with other, KANK is the worst movie so, we never send this dype of movie for oskar
