best album of the year..though earlier UJ music was too good..but in todays time and era..getting a chance to listen to soulfull and grt renditions is rare pleasures...anumalik , alka and javed have excelleed themselves in all the songs..they just rock in it...and even richa sharma ...but i think the pehle pehel is best song which our critic had criticised it

For heavens sake, grow up Sukanya!

The title reads - 'Umrao Jaan- Not quiet the same'...for heavens sake! If someone gives you the same stuff like 'Don' does, you have a problem with that. Now someone breaks away form the original classic and tries giving this movie a soul of its own and you want to go back to the same stuff!!!! Please understand that reviewing is not always 'criticising'. You dont need to think that if I dont write a couple of bad things then this isnt a review. You are a music reviewer not a music critic! Coming back, the music is melodious and awesome! It thankfully gives us something different from the original so we dont have to keep comparing and can listen to this one minus any such pains. At a time when an album like Vivaah has failed miserably to recreate an old times feel (in fact it tries so hard, it falls flat on its face), Umrao Jaan's music takes us back to an era that we obviously werent a part of. Kudos to the entire team for giving this Umrao Jaan an identity all of its own and more importantly, a soul of its own
