Why an 'A' cert? Are these christians afraid that children, after seeing this movie, will start thinking?

Good Gesture
by Ganesh K on May 19, 2006 12:12 AM

It was nice for the Christian community to have allowed the screening of the film, though, for most obvious reasons, they do not agree with the contents.

This will go a long way in strengthening the freedom of expression in the country. This will make the government develop a healthy respect towards minorities, rather than merely appease them with such gestures like banning a film.

Finally, the Christians have understood that by banning the movie, they would be giving it undue publicity. The best way to reduce interest in this movie is to ignore it.

Good Fathers and keep it up.

If a film releases which preaches that Krishna/Rama is not god and all people who believe so are fools, would you allow it to be released...that is not right...you simply cannot make a movie that attacks any religion like that...

Da Vinci Code is a film that attacks the Christian religion at its fundamental level..it says Christ has no divinity...he escaped the cross and so on...Such a film does not deserve to be shown anywhere..

t's just a movie based on novel.
by prince on May 18, 2006 10:59 PM

I don't understand why the christian community creating so much of fuss about the movie. it's just a movie based on novel. They should have done the same when the Da Vinci Code novel was published, why didn't they protest then. and now why so many problems being created. Let people watch the movie and comment.

Only shows immaturity
by prime135 on May 18, 2006 10:57 PM

If you look at Indian "bhakti" films, where so many crap is being shown in the name of "bhakti" and "gods" and "goddesses" (for eg. take a typical mockery scene of Yamraj's court or a mockery of Sage Narada), there is no reaction from Hindu community. This shows that the Hindu community is so matured and attained a level of confidence that Hinduism cannot be marred by such fictions. Hindus see the difference between movie-fiction , real-life-fiction and reality very clearly. Not so from christian & muslim brothers who feel so insecure and get 'offended' for anything that is not part of their view. An appeal to you brothers: Please grow up!!! Hinduism has never stood against your religions as it always says there are many a path to God, but its you guys imagining all the bad things. Jesus for sure would not have liked this. Your insecurity will only kill you.

man, if only people can be tolerant as all religions teach. it is only one person's ideas. if you dont like it dont see it. dont go stopping other people's interest. most important of all the books is well written and am sure the movie will carry quite some heat. there is more to the book than jesus being married? and even if he is i think that makes him a better person. he lived with a lot of values and thatis not respected. what is important is he be celibate. isnt the whole base of religion love to all and waht is bad in a great man like him being in love with a woman. it is actually very sweet and it has to be appreciated and not denounced.

come on people enjoy the movie for its creativity and artistic skills. nobody holds any offence and we all know it is a movie.
