In reply to the message posted about how the holy bible says it is a sin to remove or alter the words of the bible, I would just like to say that that means Catholics, Mormons, Baptists, Lutherans, and all other 'denominations' of Christianity have sinned and are practicing the religion wrong, I too am a Christian but I only practice what which is specified in the bible, I don't do what the pope (a position created by man not God) says has been modified.

Should or should not?

Democracy has it's boons and venom fangs. So what if Dan Brown believes in the concept of the sacred feminine and talks about the existence of a holy blood line - is that a good enough reason to curtail his imagination and curb his freedom of expression? Imagination and fiction walk hand in hand treading the thin red line between actual facts and possibilities.Period.We loved the book. We were mesmerized with his skill of making us believe on one such possibility - that the holy blood line does exist on this earth - flushed with blood and flesh and not just papyrus.Let us decide if we want to believe it or not.I'm in my 4th reading and it's pretty exciting. Ron Howard and his team only wanted to transform the book onto the celluloid and not indulge in any form of sermon. Their intentions are noble and purely cinematic because if they wanted to say anything more than just make the film - their roots would have questioned their conviction too and did they glorify atheism? A ban would only add up to the curiosity levels and force upon us - an opinion minus us. Let's not criticize their freedom of expression while breaking the same in our very own backyards.

Free speech

I really fail to understand why people are making such a fuss about this movie. Are we scared that one book can overtake thousands of years of religion. We claim that religion is strong enough to carry us through anything- is this how??

Trying to shield the public from a theory is not the way to go. I think the church should use this as a fabulous oportunity to answer questions which people may come back with. Thats when the church has a chance to show people what they believe the truth is- and after that it's upto each individual to choose what he believes in.

The way this issue is being handled by the church simply shows a fear in their own understanding and this is getting revealed to all.

Everybody has theories- in fact the da vinci code isn't Dan Brown's own theory. The history of the Knights templars and the life of Jesus Christ has been well analysed by many others. He has just compiled a lot of thoughts into his book.

Free speech is important for society today. Any editing or cutting in the movie goes against the basic dictums of society and is totally unconstitutional. Does the censor board believe that Indians are not mature enough to understand and choose
