Be it your overrated, glorified and painfully pampered Shahrukh Khan, or the histrionically-disabled Akshay Kumar or the bubbly but hollow Priety Zinta, they are no match to greats like Amitabh Bachchan or even the not-so-great but at least polished ones like Shashi Kapoor. A remake of Kabhi Kabhi would only rob away from us even the delightful memory of one of the most heart-warming, enchanting and enriching of Hindi films. Damn these debauches of showbiz who can't think of anything new and are only selling glorious relics the way wicked, worthless sons rob and sell their mother's jewellery.
It shows the intellectual banckruptcy our filmdom is suffering with. Otherwise they would not have thought about remaking old films. The examples are in plenty, Films like DEVDAS and PARINEETA, were though dressed up in glittering jewellery, garish robes modern technique with glamourous stars, but the soul was totally missing. Though lavish but were poor duplicates. Donot touch the classics, they are not made often.
Making a remake is fine....but there are disadvantages that ppl will tend to compare it with the original and will criticise if not praise.But yash chopra knows what is best and i wish good luck to him.BUt then Priety Zinta should'nt be his choice for the lead role.She being the lead actress for a yash chopra movie like veer zaara could'nt manage an award that year...so that shows that she does'nt deserve to be a yash raj heroine.ONe should rather go for kareena or rani.
It is a brilliant idea,especially Yash Chopra making it.But,Sharukh Khan is a teribble idea. He doesnot match anywhere to the Geniuses ofGreat Actors of old Kabhie Kabhie I think with Sharukh Khan It will be SUPER FLOP. Mr.Yash Chopra should look for a Better Option to Sharukh Khan
The idea of making another Kabhie Kabhie is good. My cast would be Vidya Balan for Rakhi's role, Preity Zinta for Waheeda Rehman's role, Abhishek Bachchan for Amitabh's role, Hrithik Roshan for Shashi Kapoor's role, Zayed Khan for Rishi Kapoor's role, Ayesha Takia for Neetu Singh's role and I forgot the name of the actress who played Amitabh's daughter - that role can be played by Amrita Rao. Parikshit Sahni and Simi Garewal's roles can be played by Sachin and Supriya. The only problem is can you have the melodious and absolutely out of this world lyrics and music by Sahir and Khayyam ? Can you have someone saying 'Kabhie Kabhie mere dil mein khayal aata hain' the way Amitabh has said in prose and Mukesh has sung it? Can you get Mukesh's magical voice to sing 'Main Pal Do Pal Ka Shayar Hoon'? Get all these things back! Kabhie Kabhie is not just a lovestory! It's a musical love story! Subtract the music and the story will loose half of its value. This is absolutely a personal opinion but one should remake Kabhie Kabhie if and only if the music can be recreated in spirit. Otherwise we are perfectly happy with the old one. Don't add your bricks to Taj Mahal.
mr.chopra, if you're listening, you could try abhishek bachchan / akshay kumar, rani mukherjee and saif ali khan for amitabh bachchan, rakhee and shashi kapoor's roles respectively - that is if you're willing to look beyond shah rukh khan this once. and it might just work!
Please don't degrade Amitabh by replacing his roles with the KIDS.There is only ONE SUPERSTAB and that is AMITABH BACHCHAN.No one can even stand besides him.He is our greatest star.
idea of remaking kabhi kabhi is just stupid thing now a days nobody want to see this type of movies people wants something different from bollywood not the yash chopra type of movies these all are similar and rona dhona movies making people fool
