Malamal Weekly, now simply perfect!
by Paul on Mar 15, 2006 10:57 AM

Dear Rediff,

I think Rediff now owes an apology to Priyadarsan for giving a bad review on his almost all films, except Garam Masala. This one is the worst. Especially from a person who do the interview with Priyadarsan all the time.

As now rediff accepted that the film is doing good even after a bad review from rediff (Frankly the review was pathetic. Percy's Kyonki review was also bad).

Bravo Priyadarsan. He deserves a more applaude for making a film hit without a single major actor and in the worst of the season week.

I surprise to see that this time the messages from the viewers are not published in rediff, even after 6 days.

Have a nice go, rediff readers.

Waking New Devine rip-off!!!
by Frantix on Mar 14, 2006 10:11 PM

Is Priyan the most unoriginal director of them all? He has made the bright, funny, British movie, "Waking Ned Devine" into a pathetic Hindi movie. Does he have any shame?

In his mind, he has probably graduated from copying South Indian movies to ripping off foreign movies. The world isn't blind and Priyan is a plagiarist with no self-respect.

Malamaal weekly - Best Comedy of the Year...
by Joy on Mar 14, 2006 02:07 PM

Dear Editor,
The Movie review posted on rediff site for Malamaal weekly is completely wrong. The person either does not understand the language and humor.
Its one of the best comedies of the year and needs lot of accolades for that. I had seen this movie last saturday in a full house. And I had seen people rolling of their chairs in laughters ( including me ). It is amazing how Priyadarshan is able to hold together the movie throughout and keep the humor level high..
We need to understand that criticizing a movie unnecessarily does not make a good reviewer. I have seen this trend in most of the sites that Mani Ratnam or Priyadarshan's movies are criticsed without any basis. This should be stopped and more unbiased reviewer should asked to do the job.

Regards
Joy Mukherjee

I have seen the movie. Its a good entertainer. Technically movie is perfect.
Casting also is very good . Paresh Ravel and Ompuri is in superb form..

Looks like the reviewer had taken money and written such a stupid review

Malamaal Weekly

This movie is a remake of "Finding Ned Devine" (old British movie). I have seen the original. How come Priyadarshan says this, he was not inspired by any film and this is his original work.

P.S. The original British film is excellent.
