The article made a good reading. But the last para really hurt me with the horrible spelling by your reporter - "Thanthege" takka maga, instead of thandege. Further the name of the actor Vijaya Raghavendra is spelt out as Vijayaraghavan. Probably, the reporter is a Tamilian. Please have a Kannadiga for your reporting or let it be edited properly to save such blunders.
Any way the article was good but for the above hiccups.
Thanks, for the article, good research done , this one is higly apprecitable, good to read rediff being regularly posting the reviews of kannada movie industry, i convey my sincere thanks to one and all involved in it.aptha mitra(big hit in Kannada and remade in tamil and telugu) was not mentioned in the article :( . please do post about other small regional film industry which produce some good movies ,much better in story line from rest of others,so that we also can know about them like assamase, marathi, odissa language moview, and as india has many other languages and we need to support them, they may be small but they do make more impact in daily life atleast in thier own states. Gautham
yes, movie/misic are being done very well. Thanks to Kalyan,GuruKiran and others. I wish goodluck. Hey there is small spelling correction. It is thandege tahkka maga by Upendra! Prakash
The writer could have mentioned the names of some of the other huge Kannada hits of 2006 like Apthamithra(which ran for 1 year),Kamal Hassan's Rama Shama Bhama which is still doing bumper business everywhere.
