Hi Praveen, Good to see some good Kannada Films coming thru in 2005. Though they have made good money and termed success, kannada films still need improvement in terms of the storyline, lyrics & music(melody). These films are nowhere near good old films of yesteryears (70's & 80's).But I do accept there has been considerable improvement during 2005. Best of luck Kannada Film Industry. U have done a good job in 2005. Give us more films of good taste (& witthout much blood shedding).
Good job Praveen! very happy to read such a success rate in indian film industry. You could also mention that there were 2 kannada movies that entered guniess book this year. Though many movies won national awards too they couldn't reach audience due to lack of movie halls. Hope this year will be better in this respect.
Iam Very Happy by seeing the Jogi's Poster at the main page of the Rediff.now a days kannada movies are well made i.e from past 1 year.I think it will see the days where the people used to enjoy by watching kannada movies in 60's & 70's.Thank you Rediff Plz continue the same work & show that every Language in India has got their own name & position.support all the Languages in Karnataka, speak your local languages in your house but plz speak Kannada with every person when you are outside.promote Good Kannada movies.Jai Kannadambe. JAI HIND
Thanks Rediff.com for educating the world and more so the people of Karnataka about the Kannada Cinema. Thanks also to the writer Praveen. I sincerly request rediff to continue coverage of Kannada Film Industry.
yeye!! There we are, with the highest success rate among all other language movies. The revival of the Kannada Film Industry was imminent and it came with a big bang, a little late thou. I wish the industry would reach wide ranging places all over India and overseas as well. Let us further encourage this by avoiding piracy. MG
Thats a nice writeup. Of course Kannada industry has always been good. It was just the lack of audience(biased audience rather) which was the negative factor.
Please correct Vijay Raghavendra's name. Its noit VijayRaghavan!!!!!!!!

Thanks for the coverage of kannada film industry... Kindly check the names before publishing to avoid hurting fans like me !!! (I am sure that is not a big thing to ask for!!!)
Anyways, "With an estimated four of every five releases having succeeded " - am really excited and amazed at the success rate !!!
kannada cinema will raise again.... last year started with the superhit apthamitra and ended again with a superhit jogi.... hope the same this year too... best of luck... producers hear, kannada movie watchers are with you, we expect much more.... let another superstar come up....
The name of the actor in the photograph is Vijay Raghavendra and not some VijayRaghavan. Please change it asap.
Quality of Kannada movies is much better compared to Bollywood or other south indian movies. Only the public perception has to change. Hope 2006 is an even better year for Kannada cinema.
