i don't know what others have to say about this movie....but to me it was just a thought provoking and stirred me deep inside .......it did not end according to me ....it has just begun after the movie
Rang De Basanti is a bold attempt from film maker Rakesh Mehra to portray today's youth, their attitude and their awakening.
It can be put beside Mani Ratnam's "Yuva" which also spoke about the subject but in a different manner. The presentation is flawless and the way in which Mehra mixed the youth with Bhagat Singh brigade was wonderful.
On Acting, there can only be one word... AWESOME... Amir Khan, Atul Kukarni, the foreign damsel are superb to watch. Probably, the Find of the film is Sharman Joshi... he is outstanding... probably another Javed Jafri or Arshad Warsi in making.... Siddharth provess that after Madhavan, he is one more Madrasi who can shake the Hindi Film Industry.
Altogether, THREE CHEERS for RDB... superb movie and a must watch.
Rang De is by far the best film in recent years... bollywood needed this film badly...the film's success not only in india but also abroad speaks volumes of it...
A good movie which awakens new generation and shows us the sacrifices of our freedom fighter.we should have these kind of good and clean movies in our bollywood.as we go to theatre for entertainment and not to c all crap.
I feel Rang De Basanti is a brilliant movie in these times. For too long we people have cribbed about the conditions in our country, but not lifted a finger to do anything about it. Worse, we don't do much in our personal lives either. How many of us have a definite purpose in our lives? How many of us are passionate about what we do? How many of us won't think twice before dying for what we believe in? I believe the ones criticizing the movie now, are the ones who would have criticized our freedom fighters also if they had the opportunity to live in those times. Because RDB is about the youth fighting against enemies within our own country. I feel we should take inspiration from this movie than sit back and condemn it which we Indians seem to be so good at.
The film is a very honest one indeed. Also the ending is brilliant , not falling into the trap of a long court scene but ending it like it would honestly happen to people taking on the core issues & establishment.
Just think- whether it was Satyendra , Manjunath or even Tehelka team- survival itself is a big risk. To challenge is synonimous with martyrdom and this is where the movie has stayed on track !
