I feel that this movie was made in hurry to just get it completed somehow. The ending of this movie was very vague and unexpected. It would have been better if the end was similar to the ones which Bagat Singh and other faced. Also the incidences are just put in place due to which the movie becomes very predictable and annoying as well. I feel that this movie has left the audiences high and dry. One more thing that I observed is that Amir was not enthusiastic at all. He looked very pale and tired. The actual charm of Amir was completely missing in this movie :(
I personally feel that the second half of the movie is hopeless. what is the director trying to prove by making the guys kill the defence minister? Is he trying to say that anybody has any problem with the people around try once , if it does'nt work then find the appropriate time when you can shoot him and just go ahead. I feel that the film makers have lots of social responsibilty on their shoulders, they influence the youth of the country and make its future. I feel he should have made his guys choose some other way to fight against corruption which any comman man can also take up, educate them about the options that are available to them and I sure everybody will agree with me that killing somebody is not the solution. I have a question, Can the common man choose this option?
Rang de basanti's story is lifted from N chandrs's 1986 classic ANKUSH. They made some modification to the scipt and presented it in a contemporary way. Ammmir does same stuff as a tapori which he did from rangeela, raja hindustani, ghulam, mela and ishq. But overall the movie is good , better than other movies which are coming these days. I would give it a 3 star. But the songs are meaningless.

I think its pathetic to have a crab philosophy ppl here are have...the idea of the film was not to encourage ppl to go on killing politicians, the message is that there is no point cribbing and blaming it on system, because we the ppl are a part of the system and we have to take intiative to make our country a better place to live in, basically reinstating "dont see what the country is doing for u,see what u r doing for ur country"...but the i guess the director should have made the message more obvious for the not so enlightened brains... you say technically its OKAY? dude look at the cinematography and tell me how many ppl in bollywood do it like rangde...and talk about logical ending? i think movie is a story telling medium and just like fairy tales with illogical stories give us a message, a movie doesn't have to be logically perfect for the story to be told,....and the sting operation would only have exposed the minister and anupam kher, but what should the mass do after the minister is exposed, enjoy the masala piece of news?the point is what to do when u know that things are going wrong...

"Rang De Basanti" is a movie which has a class, its truly an honest movie for people who believe in their country, not for people who donot understand what a country means and the system. We have become too used to the "Chalta Hai" attitude and are accepting anything doled to us by our country's ministers and system. Its we the people who can bring in the change by voting for right people in the right place. Kudos to the entire team of Rang De... Please continue making such pathbreaking movies.
I think it is pathetic how everyone has glorified the success of Rang de basanti.
I do not agree with the plot - Whats the big deal about showing a group of lost youngsters going on a killing spree when the tragedy strikes their home. The whole problem with India is just that- no one moves a muscle till the problem doesnt land up at our doorstep. the freedom fighters of yesteryears didnt wait for personal tragedy to get motivated to fight for a cause. They made everyone's problem their own.
About RDB, Yes, acting was good, music was cool and technically it was okay (Not brilliant, please!!!) but those have not been the problem areas of bollywood anyways.
A more logical end would have been using the means and resources availble with the youth to bring justice to the corrupt. perhaps a sting operation on anupam kher's character and the defence minister's dealings. To show a son exposing his father at the cost of losing personal relationships and benefits is acceptable but killing his father ....wow now thats too much. and really doesnt even call for it.
I appreciate the movie! Was a good effort in making the young minds think what all you have to do just plan and go for it!Was a nice effort by Aamir Khan..Keep it up!!!
rang de is a sick film and is running on media hype and amir khan.
After seeing the hype and hoopla of the review of Rang De Basanti i went to see the pic.
Alas i was totally disappointed by the various aspects of the movie.
The movie is a total exaggeration of the youth today. The wild ways of the youth are exaggerated. i dont think many youth will identify with these reel youths except maybe the loafers in the college.
Alas Aamir Khan hardly looks a youth. He even looks older than his 40 years.
The Marathi actor Atul Kulkarni is totally and wasted in the movie.
The movie maker gives a message that our frivalrous youths are just waiting for a feeble cause to kill. it is sending out wrong vibes to the youth.
these guys should have been sent to kargil instead.
If your idea of gen nxt is to booze all the night, drive at breakneck speed (without headlights on) (sic), being jobless, loafing around, peeing in public places, smooching foreigners, shooting your dad or the defence minister and shouting that "we are not terrorists" (in short do everything against the system) then RDB is the movie for you. The worst part is that some female sees Mr. Chandrashekar Azad, Mr. Bhagat Singh in these bunch of morons and the icing on the cake is equating the Defence Minister of the Country to the white policeman in the J.W. Bagh Tragedy (sic really). And also the RAF beating to near death an old lady in front of national tv (only NDTV was all over the movie). For god's sake stop making this sort of movies in the name of good cinema. Last but not the least the youth of the country braying for the blood of the politicians !. Very very sorry.
