hrishida had made me tearful seeing anand everytime!
by jaywant pandya on Aug 29, 2006 02:25 PM

when ever i see 'anand' i cry. rajesh khanna, amitabh bachchan, ramesh deo, seema deo, sumita sanyal, johny walker and above all, lalita pawar can not be forgot.
even mili was also tragic.
but golmal, khoobsurat, chupke chupke, naram garam make me so laugh! so magic was in his direction.

though i have not seen his work 'chhaya', 'memdidi', 'musafir', but i can assume they are great works too! he was great inspiration for music directors also that's why his films songs were so melodious, be it 'itna na mujse tu pyar badha' or 'ab ke sajan sawan mein' or 'kahin dur jab din dhal jaaye'...

gulzar as director, is also from same school of though as hrishida was, but though gulzar's choice of subject to make a film, i didn't like some time. gulzar is too serious. but when gulzar worked as story writer or dialogue writer with hrishida he was excellent.hrishida and his work is immortal.

Hrishida

He is the only director who has given quality and quantity films. The films which can be viewed with family without an embarrasement . From Anari, Musafir, Anuradha to fabulous Anand, Aashirwad, Mili Satyakam or Namak Haram (One of my personal favourites), Clean comedies like Gol Maal (1980), Chupke Chupke, Rangbbirangi, Khubsoorat. The list is too long to complete.

Even his critics can not find any flaws in his types of films. I wonder if there is any director in the present era of his calibre who will be able to give such fanatastic films after films which he gave (with a changing face of film making)

Our generation is fortunate to have seen the beautiful and meaning ful films made by him.

It was good decision that he quit film making after Jhhoth Bole Kaua Kaate.

He is the best director who always made movies with the charecters that we in our life. He never depicted any charecter as bad in his movies. All he wanted to show was reality in Indian life.
He made excellent movies like Anari, Anuradha, Anand, Abhiman, Mili, Guddi, Namak Haram, Chupke Chupke, Gol Maal and many more. In all the movies we dont see a villain. And in every incident we identify ourselves.
Today in the name of human relations some directors are making movies with the topics like post marital relations and other such mess. They must learn from this great director on what a good and decent movie means. Some people even tried to make a movie in the lines Anand, with a very bad verion.
Many of us believe Hrishida deserved the respect Satyajit Ray (Who is another great director Indian had produced)enjoyed.
For me, whether Hrishida is alive or not is immaterial because he is already in the hearts of millions by virtue of his great efforts.

Ask anybody & he will tell you that any of Hrishida's films he has seen many a times & enjoyed equally as if seeing fore the first time.
He was one of the best directors of all the times & knew the dictum that it is always better to retire when people still want you to work more.

Hrishida - a decent film maker
by K.Ravichandran on Aug 29, 2006 10:21 AM

I have seen almost all the movies directed by Hrishikesh Mukherjee. The more I see them, the more I want to see them again and again. Chupke Chupke, Khubsoorat, Mili, Anand, Golmaal, etc. Anand gave a star who has become star of the millenium in Big B.

Unlike movies of today even though comedy, one cannot watch sitting with the entire family with all the vulgarity, double meanings, etc, but we can watch Hrishida movies any number of times and with the entire family.

Another Hrishida is yet to be born who can give us good, comedy movies.

May his soul rest in peace.

Undoubtedly the Best Director of Hindi Cinema. He was (infact is) at the Top. Having Directed Tragedies, Comedies, etc. with equal panache, there was, nor is, any Director who can match his skills.

Hrishida is no more - not easily digestable. I do not know of others, I still do not believe(though fact is always like day and night). To pay homage to great Hrishida, it would be always adivsable to view his great hits. My appeal to various TV channels is pl start showing his great films at least for one full week.
