I hate your review
by Aditya on Apr 21, 2006 01:49 PM

I think the songs of the Fanaa are lovely. They're just so different from the current trends. The songs are for me a big break from the increasingly remix type of film songs. I think I haven't heard better songs for quite some time now. I think J-L should do more films.

The review is disappointing
by Anirban on Apr 20, 2006 10:29 PM

I strongly believe that every person have their own taste of music but any kind of review should be written by field experts. Like someone more knowledgeable in music should write a review...which should be completely unbiased and focus on the quality of music. Fanaa has a very untouched melody in the songs Mere Hath mein, Dekho Na. Very sweet, not unheard but makes you feel good. The instrumental is one of the best in turns of touching your soul in recent times. The title track, sung by Shaan and Kailash Kher is an ideal mix of high pitch and softness. I really dont know whether Ms Verma actually properly listen to the music before writing the review but Mam if your are reading this then I would urge you to please re-listen adn may be if nothing change the headline of the article and also the stars. It deserve atleast 3 and 1/2 stars

Fanaa music is excellent! Review is poor
by Rishi on Apr 20, 2006 08:39 PM

I totally disagree with your review. The music of Fanaa has its own distinct quality. May be all the songs won't be on everyone's lips initially but they do grow on you slowly. However some of the songs like Subhaan Alla and Tere Haath mein are extremely well tuned and sung. The lyrics of all the songs are excellent, thanks to lyrics by Prasoon Joshi. Once the film releases on May 26th (can't wait) this album will become one of the hottest of the year. The Rediff review doesn't do justice to the music at all. See the indiafm review for tips on how to write a review. I would give this album 4 out of 5 stars.

Sooo wrong!!!
by measCom on Apr 20, 2006 08:23 PM

More and more Rediff reviews of music and music seems to be completely biased against people paying them off for giving the reviews. The music and lyrics for every single song of this film are excellent, and it would be ridiculous to claim that the music "fails to have intense character". Best musical score right next to RDB for 2006.

Don't ever meet me, Ms reviewer!
by Arjun Arvind Vaishmpayan on Apr 20, 2006 08:04 PM

Well the most delayed hurried review by dear rediff!
I think it was just a categorical move to stand out when every other reviewers have given it excellent ratings which are also well deserved.
The melody is the soul of this album, and if you prefer nasal hummings of a particular music director/singer, ur choice but you have no right advising others a mere 2 star ratings!!

Poor review
by Gururaj on Apr 20, 2006 04:49 PM

Totally disagree.
Mere Haath Mein...is fabulous. Waiting to see it onscreen. Think its shot in Poland. It might resemble "Suraj Hua Maddham.." from K3G...royal looks & stuff...I DOESNT remind of AR Rehman at all.

May be i give a rating of 3.25/5 . Even Kuch Kuch Hota Hai's songs didn't do well before the movie release but it did a mindblowing business after release..

Two giants Kajol & Aamir doesnt have signed the movie blindly. That too Kajol had a lot of offers & she choose Fanaa as her comeback. So just feel the heat now.

On a whole , Fanaa's music is good.

This reviewer needs a psychatrist...
by Lavin on Apr 20, 2006 04:12 PM

Dear Ms. Sukanya,
I know that work can take its toll sometimes. But this way? Where even really meloduious music fails to get your senses back in their place? Sad. But people, please do not go by this review. Have got a copy of the movie songs and they are really nice. Agreed, not the best J-L work till date, but in this era of mindless crap like 'Zinda Hoon Main', this one stands out for its melody and innocence. I would definitely give it atleast a 3 star if nothing else.
