Remake? How about SouthPark
by Chakra on May 20, 2005 12:24 AM

Bollywood should remake "Southpark uncut ,
uncensored" but only lively characters played by
our politicians. Lalu can be the devil... Paswan
can play Saddam , Manmohan is Stan, pranab is
kenny (keeps getting beaten up, suits perfect),
Raoul Gandi is Kyle so Sonia is Kyle'e Mom and
so the song "Kyle's Mom is a ....." can be aptly
sung by Eric Cartman played by Modi.

Remake Magnolia
by Malini on May 07, 2005 10:31 AM

I would like our bollywood crowd to re-make the movie MAGNOLIA and I would like Aamir Khan to play the role that Tom Cruise did in the movie....Now that would be interesting to see. Other than that why not a desi version of BEING JOHN MALKOVICH or even YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN....or the recently released CRASH....Since our scriptwriters suck...let's see if they are atleast good at xeroxing!

Remakes? Why?
by Nora on May 06, 2005 11:46 PM

Why remake movies when there are talented writers across the world with equally remarkable plots and scripts? Even Hollywood is remaking modern versions of their classics from the 1940s, 1950s, and 1960s. Alfie is a great example of such an effect. While Jude Law is an excellent actor; it is difficult to imagine anyone but Micheal Caine in the title role. Another example is Flight of the Phoenix which had Dennis Quaid filling Jimmy Stewart's shoes. The new version of Flight of the Phoenix is a bit more engrossing as it was geared towards a modern audience. However, it uses the same plot as the original. Why remake? The Manchurian Candidate is another one that has been remade. Personally, I cannot imagine anyone but Angela Lansbury, Frank Sinatra, and Laurence Harvy in the main roles of the original Manchurian Candidate movie. Now, Bollywood movies that have Hollywood influences are Dhoom (Fast and the Furious meets Easy Rider), Chori Chori Chupke Chupke (Pretty Woman); in other words, remakes have already been done and falter terribly. The movies that never flop are the originals.

The Shawshank Redemption
by Sandeep on May 06, 2005 07:56 PM

Hi

I would like to see some one like Subhash Ghai or ViDhu Vinod Chopra make Hindi version of this.I think Amitabh & Sanjay Dutt would be best suited to play the roles of Morgan Freeman & Tim Robbins.

Try to remake this..
by Tarun Dhot on May 06, 2005 07:25 AM

How about a remake of The Lord of the Rings with all the naach gaana and dhishum dhishum..and how about govinda as the main hero..and shakti kapoor supporting him..aauu..David Dhawan's Frodo Babu..
If Bollywood is able to make even a 1% remake of LOTR bollywood-ishtyle with eventually the hero gifting the ring to his heroine,, if it is done,, Bollywood has full license to make a remake of any movie made in the world..

Our very own Munnabhai MBBS..
by Priya on May 06, 2005 07:06 AM

Another Bollywood made from Hollywood movie is our very favourite Munnabhai MBBS...its made from Patch Adams starring Robin Williams. But I read on one of the Rediff's Bollywood news that Hollywood is making Gangster MD from Munnabhai MBBS starring Chris Rock as Sanjay Dutt. Now thats what I call a full circle!!!

Remakes again?
by Nora on May 05, 2005 10:11 PM

Bollywood has done plenty of remakes already. It is time that they turn towards their original script writers and buy their "original" ideas. Even Hollywood has been making remakes, Alfie with Jude Law for example... when the Hollywood audience cannot see anyone but Micheal Caine as Alfie. These remakes: Alfie, Flight of the Phoenix, The Manchurian Candidate... they all did well on some level but did not please the audience because no one could imagine anyone filling the classic stars' boots. Why ruin a classic? These remakes do not fare well with the crowd.
