A GREAT JOKE!!!!!!
by rahmanfanalways on Oct 26, 2005 11:07 AM

Do anyone have to know the greatest joke for the year 2005? just read Ismail's interview. I cant do anything but to continuosly laugh.

That guy is just 3 hit films old. As he said, destiny made his 3 films a hit. That is the truth. I still cant resist saying that he is talking about jealousy.

Ismailji... Aap music compose kijiyae and try to get national acclaim first. then u can comment on A MUSICAL GENIUS.

Don't Compare
by Nilay Vakil on Oct 26, 2005 09:47 AM

Dear All,

Everyone over here is trying to compare one star with another star. Don't compare today's A. R. Rahman with today's Ismail Darbar. Just take the same number of movies as Ismail Darbar has done so far (From the Beginning). Just a small example You people can not compare Amitabh Bachchan in the beginning with Shahrukh Khan in the beginning. Both looked stupid in their first movies. Now you take Ismail Darbar and Rahman and try to figure out the results. Don't take Rahman's Hindi Movies...Take all the fisrt movies which he did...anywhere or rather any language. I feel Ismail Darbar is absolutely right about his statement. No offence but everyone has to learn and Grow. Because Ismail Darbar got a very big arena this discussion is taking place. I feel one more thing that is we should keep regional racism out of this. Think about pure music.

dear Ismailji,
i liked your music esp from HDDCs. But hey where were you all these years..
peaolpe didnt know who u are before you came in this industry, if i am not wrong say 5 years.... listen from ur heart not what other people tell... See Maestro Illayraja ruled the southern industry for around 25 years.. people everywhere listening to same kinda music, making same kind of music.. BUT Suddenly there is this fresh music, the patriotic music "Bharat hum ko jan se".. that beautifull "Yeh hasen Vadiyan". Tell me one person who did not feel that patriotic feeling when he heard that Bharat hum ko song.. it goes from a melody to that high spot. Then comes "Vande mataram".. If you dont know, listen to his tamil hits..sorry, all his films and all the songs in it r hit.. not one or 2 as in other director's film. And when comparing music..see that there is something common to compare. Personally Hum Hain is pal is lot better than other songs. And then people around, came to know that there are other ways to compose tunes, .. Dil se, Taal. What we appreciate is his attitude to think new and his ability to that right spot where you cannot help but just fall victim to his music......

Falling standards in Hindi film music
by Kristo on Sep 10, 2005 05:53 PM

Well, Ismail's music does not stand up to A R Rahman.
In the same breath it should also be said that ARR doesnt deserve such adulation and praise. His music is much hyped. None of the music directors today are original and creative. If you listen to ARR ( or for that matter any music director today ) and change the channel and listen to any western music ( rock or classical ) you dont see much difference..Just because ARR teamed up with Weber Lloyd doesn't make him great.
The chief reason for the decline ( today's film music ) is abandoning the indian traditional music and aping the west. Well, to some extent incorporate western msuic that's welcome. But going ga ga over it is not acceptable. By the way who today can compare with the greats of yester years like Naushad , C Ramchandra SDB and OPN ?
